We will pop out of the 2.5 mile long tunnel into beautiful Whittier, Alaska, where I'll take you to a local secret cove with crystal clear water and I'll give you a brief tour of Whittier, known as one of the strangest towns in the world.
On the way back, we'll stop into the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (admission included) and grab a bite to eat at a local eatery along the highway.

Brie's Botanical Garden Tours
The walking tour will start with a brief wildlife safety talk. Please note that bears can be in the area, both inside and outside the fenced area. Next, I will highlight the entry beds and we will work our way up to the front gate. Once inside the fence and plaza area we will stop to talk about the history of ABG including dedicated volunteers and staff that helped transform ABG over the last 34 years. We will follow the half mile paved loop around to the several perennial gardens, research plot and outdoor classroom. The tour will end with the newest addition, the greenhouse, then we will exit through the nursery & gift shop. Please note that the season and weather will ultimately determine the plants that we see. April-mid May can be early for some plants and the gardens might be muddy and or slushy. Peonies are usually in full bloom from mid June to mid July. Mid September might be a little late for some plants, it can be rainy and cool. Tours in Spring, Summer & Fall will cover the history of the garden, identify available plants, wildlife, trees and also general local information. You will leave with new found knowledge about some of the hardy plants in Alaska.
All guests will be required to follow any addition regulations from ABG at the time of your tour. All tours are subject to operating hours of the Alaska Botanical Garden and may be canceled with limited notice.
Anchorage In a Day - Local Eats, Mountain Landmark & Culture
We will start our tour with Gwennies, which is a landmark in Anchorage that was once notable for having a brothel upstairs. The food is great with huge portions. While you are dining you can look at all the old photos and items from the past. It's like a museum with food.
We will drive through Anchorage’s historic neighborhoods while I give highlights of Anchorage's history and culture and head over to Earthquake Park and the Coastal Trail, where there is a locals' secret rock garden on the inlet turned into a local piece of art. We will stop by the seaplanes of Lake Hood, the world’s busiest seaplane base.
Then, we will head to Flattop Mountain, where we will park and walk a half a mile to get to 3,510 feet above urban Anchorage, with panoramic views of the inlet and the city. This is an amazing spot for photographs.
On the way back into the city, we'll stop by a locally owned Native Arts store where you'll be able to view ivory exquisitely carved into intricate art and jewelry, available for purchase.
We'll finish our tour with a stop at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, where you'll learn about the Alaskan culture through exhibits, films & demonstrations of native culture, plus a woodland area with traditional dwellings.
*PLEASE NOTE: If you have already done part of this tour then we can skip certain parts and spend more time on others if its a private tour.

Overlooked beauty of Alaska
First, meet and greet. We’ll all meet at the Diamond Center Hotel for introduction, then go over our destination. We’ll all load up and head to the trail head. Our trail is the Beluga point overlook, that also over looks the Turnagain Arm. It is located at mile post 110 on the Seward highway, just 16 minutes from the Diamond Center hotel. On our trip we’ll discuss the enriched Alaska life style in our great state. At the trail head we’ll go over a couple saftey features for our hike, and what to expect. Our hike will be a short 20-30 minutes but moderate in difficulty level. It is only .3 miles at a 400ft elevation climb to a beautiful scenic view of the whole Turnagain Arm. While admiring the view it is a good time for water, and more knowledge about Alaska life style. Snacks and water will be provided during this break before continuing on our journey back to the trail head. Back at the parking lot, we’ll take a nice cool down with some good stretching, discuss more about Alaska and it’s history. We’ll load up and head back to the Diamond Center Hotel.

All cruises are operated on first-class catamarans with sturdy dual hull design. These powerful high-speed catamarans are extremely stable and able to smoothly navigate through the narrow fjords and ice flows to reach the face of massive glaciers. Lunch is included on board.

Highland Hugs
Visit and connect with the old world house cow of the North, the Scottish Highland cow. You can get close to this docile breed: pet, scratch, brush and even hug these magnificent beasts. They love it as much as you will. There are calves and they are very cute!
If you are feeling adventuresome, book two hours, from 9 -11. I let the cows out at nine. We can go with them for some forest bathing as they browse in the woods. We might identify some edible plants and berries and bring them back with us. We will be out for about one hour. Then we will come back for some cuddles with the calves and yearlings. I may prepare a snack incorporating things we have found in the woods. This experience will require sure footedness, heavy clothes, mosquito protection, and hiking boots. Mostly trail less with some heavy brush. This experience would be the best way to share our lifestyle with you.
Kenai River Guided Salmon Fishing
On your guided fishing experience on the Kenai River you can expect to have a blast with one of our professional guides on our 21' Willie Boat Classic specifically designed for this river. We will be using all top of the line gear including Gloomis Rods and other name brand fishing equipment. Once on the boat we will go over safety and then go over how we are going to fish for the day. Including how to use all the fishing equipment. There is absolutely no experience required. If you've never fished a day in your life and just want to experience what it's like to catch an Alaskan Salmon then look no further. We will fish hard and do all we can to get you on the fish. Once you hook your fish we will coach you through how to land it, including netting it for you. Once the trip is over we will even fillet your fish for you to prep it for taking it to be processed.
if you have any questions we haven't already answered please feel free to reach out to us.
Processing and Shipping fish can be done in Soldotna through "Custom Seafood Processors"
Private Dog Sled Tour
Come visit our 40 acre homestead and learn about life with 30 amazing athletes. Learn about the loving and hardy sled dog breeds, Alaskan and Siberian huskies, and why they excel as sled dogs. Get to know each of their fun personalities, as we tell you stories of where they each came from and the fun adventures we have had with them. After you meet the dogs it's off on a sled ride through the birch and aspen forest. Enjoy watching the dogs fluffy butts while hearing nothing but the soft sound of the sled gliding over the snow and the dogs gentle breathing.
The dogs of Susuitna Sled Dog Adventures are more than working dogs, they are our family. We love sharing their passion with others and hope you leave our home filled with as much admiration and respect for these amazing animals as we are.
Extraordinary Wildlife Scenic Flight
We will meet at my airplane and I will go over a safety orientation on the aircraft. I will show you how everything functions. My intercom is excellent, allowing for clear communications. I’ll also describe our intended flight path and prepare you for highlights you can anticipate and be prepared for; like a bear den in April or a baby caribou calf in May. Photographs taken from the airplane of wildlife are possible. However, I will not fly in a manner that may disturb them. Weather plays a critical role in every flight. If the weather is poor, we may not fly. Fortunately that does not happen very often. Give me a call and lets go flying!
Other things to note
I am available to fly at any time during the day between 9am and 8pm. The $150.00 flight is for 15 minutes. Other options include a half hour flight for $300 and a full hour flight for $600.00
