Snorkel the Sea of Cortez
We will drive to the beach where we will hike for around 10 minutes until we get to our spot right in front of the reef. Then, we will gear up with our snorkel and mask to get in the water, we will swim from the beach around the reef looking for all the marine life that we can find: schools of fish, octopus, eels, and lots of amazing species! We will snorkel out the shore about 250 meters and then we will go back to the beach where we can hang and relax for a few minutes while enjoying the sun. Other things to note: This is not a snorkel class, if you require a class please book a private tour so we go to an easier spot with no coral and easier to learn. You dont need special shoes for the hike but sometimes flipflops dont grip very well, is not a hard hike, and i recomend you to bring a rashguard instead of sunscreen, and if you need a lifejacket please let me know so i bring one. The total duration of the activity is from the time I pick you up until I drop you off in Cabo San Lucas

The route will be based on the current conditions (e.g. currents, wind, visibility etc.), and the ability and snorkeling experience of the group as a whole. 10:30-12:00am: We will snorkel the area and observe the spectacular marine life the Sea of Cortez harbors. 12:00- 12:30pm: We will reconvene as a group and discus our observations from the snorkeling experience while we enjoy a freshly prepared ceviche.

Native Mexican Cooking Class with Mezcal
Please note: we've changed our account owner. See our 100+ reviews from over 4 years on our old Host page (hosted by Rachel). 100% outdoor class! You'll start off with a brief introduction to the Mexican kitchen from Noel - the chef of El Refugio Mezcaleria – before launching into the cooking. Typically you'll make 2 salsas to be used as an enhancer for any dish you make, from fish to pork to veggie tacos - and a traditional mole that transforms your plate! All of the above can be used with chicken, pork, beef, or even vegetarian plates. We sometimes change the dish we teach (tortillas anyone?), and are happy to accommodate requests as much as we are able. Please get in touch if there's something particular you want to learn. Along the way you'll learn a lot of native Mexican philosophy as it applies to the kitchen (and life), as well as Mexican history and gastronomia. This is a hands-on class and everyone will be participating. At the end you'll eat what you've made and enjoy a shot of artisanal mezcal or a beer. Other things to note Classes are in English and Spanish. If you have trouble understanding, simply ask for clarification. If you'd like to book a class on a day that isn't available on the calendar, send us a message.

Morning hike in Balandra
During this experience we will do a morning hike in Balandra. We will walk in the cliffs and beaches that surround this amazing beach. Balandra is much more than the main beach by the parking lot, where most people go. It's a bay with 7 beaches, hills, cliffs, mangroves and intertidal zones rich in marine fauna. Our hike lasts 2 to 3 hours (depending on the speed of the group) and we will visit all of this points. After the hike you can swim and stay at the beach if you'd like. The views are unforgettable and this is one of my top recommendations for people who visit Balandra. The hike is easy if you're used to hiking and intermediate level if not. You won't need hiking boots, just regular working out shoes. We might get wet if the tide is high, and it's important to be well hydrated. We do not include transportation to the meeting point, you will need a car, or a taxi.
