You begin your ride on back of vespa with experience driver to the outside of Siem Reap town . You will be picked up at between 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm from the hotel in Siem Reap, we'll go directly to the Tonle Sap river, a lake located just 21 kilometers from Siem Reap town. Once in the lake port, we'll take a local boat from the ferry to explore the famous floating villages of Kampong Phluk. There, you can see firsthand what everyday life is like for the many families who make their living primarily from fishing. Most families live on the lake shore in brightly colored houses on long poles, so the high water levels are not a problem during the rainy season. Explore the flooded mangrove forest surrounding the area, which is home to a variety of species, including crab-eating macaques and 3,000 inhabitants. We will then take you to visit a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island. Enjoy seeing the sunset with a local beer from a local boat on Tonle Sap Lake and transfer you back to your hotel in the city of Siem Reap.

The Tonle Sap one of the world’s most productive systems of freshwater. In the rainy season, the Tonle Sap Lake increases to 12,000 km². Throughout the dry half of the entire year, the lake decreases to no more than 2,500 km², depleting into the Tonle Sap River. Every year, countless fish come to spawn in the seasonally flooded forest encircling the lake, attracting a myriad of water birds as well as people, who have settled in villages along the shores and who live with the rhythm of the water. This environment was classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997. Take a boat trip to ‘Kampong Phluk’ an amount of three small fishing villages in an atmospheric flooded forest setting.
