Ozokwenza

According to Global Fashion Agenda, In 2018 the fashion industry produced 2.1 billion tonnes of c02, representing 4% of the global carbon emissions, an emission share larger than France, Germany and the UK combined.

Fashion needs to act on climate and we need to change things fast. If we continue on this path, we will miss our 2030 emissions target by 50% and this will accelerate global warming.

On this experience we will uncover the charming city of Porto and peel back its layers to find independent brands and up-and-coming Portuguese designers, who’re taking on the challenge to reduce their c02 emissions. This is done through conscious design that explores circularity, social advocacy, supply chain transparency, the use of natural, recycled and innovative fibres, renewability and zero-waste.

Hear tales of how sustainable materials came to fruition, such as broken umbrellas collected on windy days to be transformed into stylish swimwear. Plus, learn why senior seamstresses are vital in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.

In true Portuguese style, we’ll stop off for ‘um cafe’ (included) at DUH Vegan donut stop. Enjoy the taste of Elodie’s daily special (included) and fuel ourselves for the remainder of the tour.

Unearth beautiful designs that you won’t find anywhere else and discover why it’s important to adapt to a more conscious wardrobe.

Lapho uzoba khona

Each store has been carefully selected to offer you the ultimate experience. We’ll begin in Porto’s art district, which is home to an abundance of art galleries and creative work.

Before we sneak down narrow paths to uncover hidden ateliers, we’ll wander through the heart of the city, ticketing off famous monuments such as Igreja do Carmo, Joana Vasconcelos colourful mural and The Clérigos Tower.

Ilinganiswe ku-5.0 kokungu-5 ngokusuka kokushiwo abanye okungu-23.

I really enjoyed Jades tour of the wonderful and sustainable designers of Portugal. The tour not only highlights great fashion (especially shoes), you also discover great restaurants and areas of Porto you may not otherwise explore.

A unique experience in all ways. Jade is super friendly and you feel like you're wandering the streets of Porto with a new great friend. The insights I got from Jade related to sustainable clothing were really interesting and I love the fact I was introduced to a variety of trendy, Portuguese brands that I've never heard of, but are cool and different in addition to being completely into sustainability. Jade knows much about the areas and while wandering from shop to shop she will continue to tell you about the area, show you street art and take you to great places. What I particularly loved is that I felt the experience was tailored to what Jade felt were my interests. I had a really great time - I enjoyed it so much that I will re-do the tour (knowing there is much more to see and experience) when returning to Porto again.

We had a wonderful tour with Jade on an original theme for a tour. But very interesting one! As a whole family that’s really concerned about sustainability, we were delighted to find Jade’s tour. Jade took us to some great and innovative fashion designers! And the vegan donuts at the end were amazing!

A really unique tour that I wouldn't have expected to find. Jade was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, as were the people working in the shops.
