A warm and friendly welcome to my home at Latokartano/Helsinki!

First we start by preparing the dough, toppings and ingredients for the strater, the main course and the dessert.

During the cooking process we will make three Courses meals from mostly local and natural ingredients. The aim is that everyone could participate in chopping, cooking and baking process.

So be prepared for hand in some traditional Finnish meals twisted by you and me which you might not experienced before.

For the starter for instance we could make Karelia Pies (rise/potato) served with a mixture of egges and butter or mushroo soup/meet soup or mixture of both.

For the main could be Meatballs with creamy mushroom sose or Finnish style Pie topping with mushrooms/meet, egges and cheese.

For the dessert Blueberry/Cranberry Pie, Pancakes, Apple Pie, Cinnamon Roll or Cherry Pie.

Upon the guests requests, we can make anytype of food Meet/Vegetarian/Vegan and lactose-free and gluten free.

Part of Leftovers food could be taken for breakfast or your next meal to enjoy.

The desire for cooking and baking comes straight from my heart, i have been always passoinate and caring for a healthy and delicious food, i made my very first meal when i was 10 years old and since then i have cooked for my family and friends. As a family we have established a pizza place restaurant and i also have practiced my cooking skills in a Greek resturant .

The inspiration for cooking class comes also from the "Picking Wild Mushrooms" expereince guests who have incoureged me for a cooking class and loved my foods.

Each year mostly at autum i have collected a lot of wild mushrooms and berries, most of the mushrooms and berries are frozen and dried for latter use. The dough made for Finnish pies and pizzas might contain mushrooms powder which makes the dough more healthy and delicious.

Latokartano is about half an hour distance from the city center by bus and 15 minutes drive by car through Lahdenväylä and kehä I.

such an enjoyable cooking experience with Nicolas, and a bonus meeting a lovely co-participant as I was attending alone. Nicolas is an attentive host, very knowledgeable and able to adapt his teaching to suit the guests’ choices and preferences. home-style cooking using freshly picked ingredients was beautiful and sitting around a table with the new friends was delightful. I won’t hesitate to recommend Nicolas’ class.

J’ai passé un merveilleux moment avec Nicolas ! Nous avons préparé plusieurs plats typiques de Finlande dont les fameux cinnamon roll que j’adore ! Il a été d’une grande pédagogie et d’une grande gentillesse. En plus d’être un super chef c’est une personne absolument adorable et drôle, que j’aurai un très grand plaisir à revoir si je reviens à Helsinki ! Merci mille fois Nicolas pour ces heures avec toi ! Je refais les recettes dès que je rentre en France ! I had a wonderful time with Nicolas! We have prepared several typical Finnish dishes including the famous cinnamon rolls that I love! He was very pedagogical and very kind. Besides being a great chef, he is an absolutely lovely and funny person, whom I will have great pleasure to see again if I come back to Helsinki! Thank you a thousand times Nicolas for these hours with you! I’ll make the recipes as soon as I go back to France ! Kiitos !
