This is a fun, stunning sites, multi rides, journey to and around a sand dunes peninsula tuck between the river and the sea, are you ready?
We will depart from Lisbon on the train towards a quirky fishing city. Upon arrival, comfortable bicycles will take us further on our exploration we will take a look at - still authentic - Setúbal's artsy vibes.
Afterwards we'll take our bikes on the ferry boat, to the Tróia Peninsula. Watch out, during the ride, for the bottle-nosed dolphin community that lives in the area!
Once there, we will explore the sand dunes fauna and flora, discover river and sea pristine beaches and surprise ourselves with the nearly 2000 years old Roman Legacy in Tróia - the Salting Factories.
In total we will cycle an extension of 10km on a flat terrain - easypeasy! =D
There will be plenty of time for lounging on a secluded beach and swim on both sides of the dunes - the Sado river and the Atlantic Ocean and if you feel inspired you can even go plogging (picking up trash while you explore the area).
At lunch time you will taste some local delicacies in a picnic under the pine trees and right next to the water.
At the end of the day, with lighter bags and filled up souls, we will take the reverse journey back to Lisbon.
Other things to note

I'm a Lisboner; slow traveller - "it's not the destination, it's the ride"; tour guide and I love my job; forager - expect learning about wild edibles; earth lover and a sharing person.
I would love to take you on a nature diverse and culturally rich water side adventure.
My experience is socially responsible and eco-friendly - my partners are local and sustainable small businesses and our travels are low emissions.
So, who better, than a local, born and bread by the sea to take you on an adventure in a country embraced by the ocean?

The beach that Rita took us to was one of the highlights of the holiday. That alone was worth the price of the experience, because it's not somewhere that you'll find without someone that's been going there for years. Completely deserted with beautiful golden sands!
Rita herself is a great host, perfect English, really friendly with great personal anecdotes, she also introduced us to her friend in Setubal who took us to a local fisherman's bar.
We'd do the same experience again in a heartbeat!

Truly an adventure to remember! Rita is a wonderful host, warm and friendly and talking to her during our trip was a unique experience! So many interesting topics, so much to learn about Lisbon and the amazing landscapes in the surroundings! I was impressed to see how knowledgeable she was and how inspiring her story was! Her passion for a sustainable way of living was just contagious and it was impressive how carefully every detail of the trip was planned so that it can be eco-friendly from the beginning until the end. This is an experience that has it all - you are active the whole time, there is a cultural component (Roman ruins), amazing food (yes, Rita is also an impressive chef!!!) and nature...The nature was simply mesmerizing! The beach, at the end....peaceful, with cristal clear waters....pure bliss! Thank you, Rita, for this amazing opportunity to have a real, authentic, super fun and sustainable experience! I am pretty demanding, but this is deffinitely an adventure I strongly recommend to anyone wishing to go beyond classic, touristy experiences!

Perfect off the beaten track Lisbon outing! This was the best tour me and my family (2 adults and 2 children) ever joined and Rita the best tour guide we've ever had! Rita was well informed and engaging at communicating with our small group of 8. She was kind, accommodating and always attentive to our needs. The tour itself couldn't have been more thorough, yet just perfectly paced to allow our avid senses to take it all in. There was cultural immersion when we visited the Roman Ruins and as we strolled the streets of Setúbal by the end of the day. There were amazing sights to be seen throughout the day, from the views from the 25th of April Bridge to the raw sceneries at the Tróia peninsula. Setúbal is a vibrant city that was once an important industrial port city and Tróia has some of the most beautiful secluded beaches we've ever visited. As a family of environmentalists we were happy to see that the tour was coherent in terms of its nature friendliness and sustainability aspects. The picnic was divine - a taste of fresh seasonal fruit, a small local producer chilled white wine and other typical delicacies! Transport wise it was perfect - the train and ferry boat were spot on time and the bicycles very comfortable and safe. If you like to explore less touristy obvious places and could only do one day out of town, when visiting Lisbon, this would be your outing! Couldn't recommend this her experience more! Thank you Rita for making this day so special for us!

Riding like we did it I would be able to go around the whole world, a very special ride, I had a great time, could't have chosen better way to embrace Troia and feeling embedded in nature. A sustainable way to know Troia peninsula, the Roman ruins and going to the beach. Rita prepared us a very good meal and was always dedicated to the participants. Thanks Rita, keep it up, happy and nature friendly! You showed me the best of Troia and I had a great time with the group!

Amazing experience! I learnead a lot about the ancient Roman Ruins and I loved the chance to enjoy the beautiful and unique landscape during lunch. The beach was magnific, all that seaside ambient and wide seashores. The bikes were very suitable for the experience and the fact that when you arrive by train they are already there is extremely conveniente and confortable. The host was very friendy and revealed to be an expert on the subjects. I was very impressed about the enviromental sustainability of all the experience.
