Lavender Barn is an 18th century converted barn situated down a quiet farm lane in a rural spot, 15 minutes walking from Parkhurst Forest but only a short distance from Newport. The town has a good shopping centre, many pubs and restaurants and quite a few historical buildings. (Ghost walks are popular in the summer!) Beautiful Carisbrooke Castle is situated within walking distance, as is Carisbrooke High Street, (10/15 minutes) which has two pubs and an excellent Italian restaurant.
