Al iniciar nuestro recorrido nos adentraremos en el centro de la ciudad; reconoceremos su historia, su cultura y su arte, exploraremos los edificios más emblemáticos, sus parques y plazas, exploraremos cómo es el día a día en el centro de Medellín, donde diariamente se mueven 1’200.000 personas aproximadamente. Empezaremos nuestro recorrido en el transporte público; tomaremos el tren hasta la Comuna 13 y haremos transferencia al teleférico que nos llevará por encima de las casas hasta una de las partes más altas en las montañas de Medellín, allí entenderemos lo difícil que es la situación en los barrios altos y tendremos una de las mejores vistas de la ciudad. Posteriormente nos dirigiremos hacía las famosas Escaleras Eléctricas, un proyecto único en el mundo ubicado en la misma Comuna 13, anteriormente una de las zonas más peligrosas de la ciudad; hablaremos de su increíble historia y del proceso de transformación que experimentaron sus habitantes, realizaremos un recorrido urbano lleno de magia y color enmarcado por la mayor cantidad de grafitis en todo Medellín. Finalizaremos nuestro recorrido en la Comuna 13.

We'll visit a coffee plantation in Guatapé, where we learn from local farmers everything about the coffee process, from the seed to the cup, there you’ll pick coffee and will see the whole process, you will be for a while a coffee farmer. As we are in Guatapé, we have to go to the rock, get ready to walk the 708 steps to reach the top, that adorns the landscape of Antioquia and enjoy a breathtaking 360 degrees view of the dam and surrounding areas to capture unforgettable pictures. Then we go to Guatapé, where we enjoy lunch (own expense) before strolling around the most important landmarks of a town full of color, friendly people and corners with fascinating stories that we’re going to share with you, how the tradition of "zócalos" (house facades painted) started and why is important for the inhabitants; if you are a chocolate lover, there's a shop waiting for you, also you will have time to buy handicraft and souvenirs from the local stores. When you arrive at our training center, we'll start with a short tour of the project space, from the ground floor modern kitchen to our green rooftop where we'll pick fresh organic herbs and vegetables for the recipes we'll enjoy. I'll explain the social transformation of Medellin's Buenos Aires neighborhood, pointing out infrastructure and projects that can be seen from the rooftop in the breathtaking surrounding mountains. I'll also share the challenges and successes of building the training center from scratch with my own hands. Back in the kitchen, we'll put on our aprons to prepare a delicious meal with traditional, less common Colombian dishes (rarely found in restaurants), paired with popular dishes from our community project transforming local produce into healthy flavors from around the world. But before we get cooking, we'll have an exotic fruit tasting and prepare a fresh juice for the meal. After cooking we'll enjoy the food and photos in our unique colonial style patio space, where I've recuperated city heritage with hundred year old doors and windows. We'll try an expecial and typical mango ice cream with salt and lemon wich one is including in the tour, and inside my Grandmother's home I will explain you everything about the painful past of la Comuna 13, and our personal histories like locals of la Comuna 13 as well. Then we will take the escalators that leads to the top of the mountain, and I will show you an amazing viewpoint to see all Medellin City, (here we will try more local food). Then we'll go to Independencia 2 to see more about the second part of the history, explaining about the biggest urban mass grave in a all the world, Present and Transformation of the Comuna 13 as well. After we will go back to the meeting point to do the end of the tour.

When you come we will start at a beautiful home-museum from the 18 century where I will tell you why this Hacienda has been so important in this community for the past 170 years. Then I will take you in to the nature through the coffee plantation and explain what makes Colombian Coffee so special where you will plant your own coffee tree. I will show you from scratch how to do it and as well how to harvest. Experience birdwatching while we walk along the coffee plantation with amazing views of the city and the mountains. After we seen all about coffee in the plantation we will get back to the Hacienda and enjoy a delicious homemade meal surrounded by family and friends. We are going to visit the most representative and idyllic "pueblo" in Antioquia, Guatape. In Guatape, we guide you through the main cultural and historical points of the town which include; Calle de los recuerdos, Plazoleta de los Zocalos, Town Square, Boardwalk. We will also take you to the famous Piedra del Peñol and there you will be able to climb over 700 stairs to get to the summit of this iconic landmark to enjoy sweeping views of the Guatape Reservoir and surrounding area. (The entrance to climb to the top of the "Piedra" is 20.000 COP and not included in the price of the tour. You pay the fee directly at the entrance to the Piedra). We will pick you up at your place. You will paragliding over the city of Medellin and you will be able to witness the majesty of the city from above.
