Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots. Other things to note: Wear casual clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and bring a camera. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is also home to two rescue dogs, two Holstein cows and two sulcata tortoise. While we like to keep our group sizes small to enhance a personal experience, we are open to hosting larger family/friend groups with more than six individuals.

You will then put on felt bottom reef walkers that we provide specifically designed for shoreline fishing. We will then give a quick tutorial on gear, bait, and techniques for our targeted fish. It doesn't take long before we get some action! Hana pa'a as we say here. Meaning to hook up! Be prepared to have one of the most memorable times of your lives! Ohana (Family) Surf Lessons is Kailua Kona’s premier surf school specializing in beginners of all ages and skill levels. This experience gives you a unique opportunity to paint orchids on the Orchid Isle with a third generation local professional artist in her island home. Orchid Isle Manor: is what I call my home (neighbors call the 'Painted Castle'). They will get to see some of my artwork on the way to the painting space. Depending on the weather, I have an outdoor painting space and an indoor studio. My property is in the lush Kona coffee country and we will be painting some of the orchid varieties that grow here on Hawai'i ; The Orchid Isle. I walk students step by step through how to paint the orchid from start to finish. Adding fun facts about our island and orchids through out the class. After painting, we will take some locally grown tea or award-winning Kona coffee from my family's plantation on the lanai to let our artwork dry. Everyone goes home with a beautiful, finished painting that should fit easily in their suitcase. It's the perfect relaxing afternoon for the artistic traveler. Guests are encouraged to explore the little Artist's village of Holualoa where they can see the work of many of the artists who live in our community & eat or shop before or after the class. When was the last time you tried something for the first time? Get ready for an unforgettable experience. You don’t need ‘good balance’ or ‘great fitness’ - this is a sport for everyone. We have wide stable boards that do the balancing for you. All you need is to be able to breathe and relax so you become one with the movement. The first 15 minutes are spent learning about the ocean, our surroundings, proper paddling technique and safety regulations. We will enter the ocean and begin paddling on our knees, orienting your body to the paddle board and motion of the ocean. Once you’re comfortable we stand and experience the ocean from a unique vista – standing on water. The views of the coast line are incredible, from Maunakea to Haleakala to the vast rolling hills of Kawaihae to the green rainforest of the Kohala Mountains. We will paddle from one beach area to another- and enjoy snorkeling as well! This experience is typically 1.5 hours however depending on ocean conditions please give an extra 30 minutes buffer. We will get fitted for wetsuit then loads up on the boat to head off for the bay to go snorkeling with Manta Rays, we will be floating in the water while hanging onto raft with dive lights! The Manta rays come inchs away most of the time! The manta rays range from 5 to 18 ft in length. The tour is in a protected cove by the airport and a resort. The maximum group size is 14 passengers! No touching or harassing the manta rays. Check-in time Policy Terms & Conditions: We occasionally change the check in time due to Sunset changes throughout the year & or weather conditions etc. please keep your form of communication on cell phone available at all times throughout the day of your tour, be able to get to the harbor within a 30 minutes notice. sure your phone is USA friendly.

Spend more time in the water snorkeling as we aboard our 26 ft Mediterranean Line boat and glide across the sea in search of our snorkeling site. I will select the best site of the day taking into account the ocean conditions! Upon arriving at our snorkeling site I will go over ocean safety, equipment and answer any questions you might have as we get into the water. We'll spend most of our time in the water searching for the unique Hawaiian marine life! Turtles, rays, eels, dolphins, and tropical fish are some of the local residents we may meet! Afterwards we will return to our boat for some local refreshments as we learn about the wildlife that we saw during our time in the ocean and the local legends of the area! No two trips are the same! We visit a different site and encounter different marine life each trip! -------- This is an intimate and educational experience that has a maximum group size of 6 guests. First time snorkelers and non-swimmers alike are welcome! Each guest is required to sign a Release of Liability prior to participation.
