You will warm up with gentle stretches and breathing exercises, and flow into a revitalizing practice with standing, seated and supine postures. You will be provided with verbal, visual and manual (optional) adjustments based on your body and your preferences. You will end with a deep relaxation segment.
Scenic coastal tour in an expedition Zodiac - Lunenburg
Are you a "road-less-travelled" kind of person? Would you like to experience a beautiful, less touristy part of Nova Scotia? Join us for a 2-hour Zodiac coastal tour through Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's back passage — a pristine part of the Atlantic Ocean. Our tour is in a professional, 19-foot Zodiac MilPro. These popular vessels are the black, inflatable boats you find on expedition ships around the world. They're also the boats we operate as photographers and guides in Antarctica and the Canadian sun-arctic. So what will we see? It is common to see Atlantic grey seals, osprey, great blue herons, mink, and deer (among other fauna) as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora and geology as we cruise Tanner’s Pass, Schooners Cove, Heckman’s Island and the back passage. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia! Will the tour operate in rain, wind or fog? We absolutely explore in light rain, wind and fog! That’s part of the adventure! That said, we keep a close eye on marine weather forecasts and if we have any safety concerns, we will contact you the day of the tour. It’s also important to be prepared to get at least a little wet. We’re not whitewater rafting, but there’s still a very good chance water will come over the bow. Please contact us if you have any questions at all!
Wreath Making on the Farm
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Gift yourself an afternoon of comfort and joy as you sip, snack and craft. We've collected the greenery from here on the farm and have everything that you'll need to create an all natural, 12" wreath. Looking for a Girl's Weekend away? We have rooms and can create a Wreath Workshop Weekend just for you. Ask for more details. Note: Labrador Retrievers are part of the experience.
Three Sisters Sea Kayaking Day Tour
Let me take you kayaking on the world's biggest tides, on the Bay of Fundy. We will paddle in the spectacularly scenic and remote Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Geopark, where North America once separated from Africa, and the evidence is still visible in the cliffs today: Lava flows, fossils, colourful rock formations steeped in indigenous storytelling, and arches to paddle through. A highlight of the tour are the Three Sisters rock spires, which we will kayak through while I take photographic memories to take home. We will stop at a remote beach that used to be one of the busiest shipyards along the Fundy shore during the age of sail. Today, it is a heaven of serenity, where we might find remnants of the past in an old horseshoe or parts of the historic wharf once the tide recedes. Here, we might see a bald eagle fly over, hear kingfishers chatter and see curious seals poke their heads out of the Bay. We settle down on driftwood for a home-made meal fresh from my organic garden. Upon paddling back, the tide will be well into the ebb, so areas where we previously paddled through are now sitting high and dry - an incredible sight. The paddling time both ways is about 1.5 hrs, with an hour for the picnic. I will provide all the gear needed, food, photos and instructions on how to paddle and steer the kayaks, and am a certified kayaking guide.
Blacksmithing Basics in the Cove
Interested in trying your hand blacksmithing? I’m offering you the opportunity to learn the basics of blacksmithing during a 3 hour workshop. Workshops are only $200 which covers the materials, use of the shop tools, and instruction for up to 4 people.
Workshop making a Sea Glass Souvenir Pendant
When you arrive at the workshop you will find your unique piece of Prince Edward Island (seaglass) in our treasure chest. Then I'll give you history about where sea glass comes from, what types of sea glass come from what bottles, just a little history. After the history lesson I have a display of items I love to show off and explain where they I found them. Finds such as sharks teeth, bottle stoppers, marbles and even a pirates old clay pipe. I hand out each person the tools and wire they need to make their pendant. Then step by step I instruct you in making your very own souvenir of Prince Edward Island. We charge per person (adult or child) for the workshop and we offer chains for a fee in the gift shop. If you don't leave wearing your one of a kind sea glass jewelry we wrap your piece in tissue and put it into a bag for safe travels. Other things to note July and August seem to be the busiest months for Tourism here on the Island. To be assured a spot call and reserve a time. Large groups of 20 or more welcome reservation required. 902 218 0161
Lobster Supper
You'll arrive at From Away Farm and we'll introduce you to your lobster. The pot will be on and you can participate or watch as we cook potatoes, vegetables and lobsters together. The biscuits or buns will be fresh and we'll set a place for you with a beverage of choice. The cooked contents are drained and then spilled across the paper covered table in a casual style conducive to eating (and dipping in butter) with your bare hands. Homemade dessert is also included. Please note that two Labrador Retrievers are part of the experience. To request dates and times that aren't listed, click the “Contact host” and “Request availability” on the calendar.

Learning how to create a hooked rug on the Cabot Trail
The 100th anniversary of the famed “Cheticamp Hooked Rug” is fast approaching. These rugs, once made to warm the floors, eventually became a source of family income. The women in the area would hook throughout the year and during the quiet Winter months some of the fisherman and lumberjack husbands would join them. It quickly became a cottage industry. This craft has now become a well-known art medium sold across the world as the Chéticamp-style hooked rugs. Come share in this little piece of our local Acadian history by participating in one or more classes offered to all. The classes are available to people of all levels; from those who have never held a “hook”, to those who wish to perfect their skills. Come join us once or as often as you desire. We have local recognized “hookers” joining us. Learn a new art form while having loads of fun!
