This very attractive, semi-detached, stone-built holiday cottage is situated in the picture-postcard village of Ysbyty Ifan, nestled in the Snowdonia National Park. Ysbyty Ifan is set within the National Trusts Ysbyty Estate with very diverse landscapes and habitats, part of which has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The River Conwy runs through this beautiful, picturesque village which is a haven for wildlife enthusiast and photographers, and ideal for cyclists, walkers and ramblers with walking routes from the door. There is also a children’s play area in the village to keep the children occupied. Keen walkers will enjoy the 6-mile circular route on the Ysbyty Estate to Cwm Eidda walk. In the village, is St John’s Church and is of significant historical importance as it was the birthplace of what we now know as the St John’s Ambulance, and the village was the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln’s great-grandmother.
With stunning, countryside views, Castiel Cottage dates back to c.mid 19th century and retains its original beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplace, with a welcoming wood burner for those cooler evenings and a pretty patio garden where you can relax with a glass of wine on those balmy, sunny days. With comfort in mind, snuggle-up on the leather sofa whilst watching a film or simply be engrossed in one of the choice of books.
The popular village of Betws-y-Coed, the ’Gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’ is just 6 miles with shops, cafés, restaurants, waterfalls, pretty river pools and is a haven for mountain bikers with specialist outlets. The Victorian resort of Llandudno and Conwy, as well as the splendour of the Snowdonia National Park are all easily accessible by car. The beautiful Italiantate village of Portmeirion is well worth visiting or take a trip on the the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway, which are both within a 30-minute drive from the cottage. Other places to visit include the popular Riverside Chocolate House at Pentrefoelas and Conwy Falls. There is fun for all the family at the exciting Zip World Fforest, whilst water sports are catered for at Llyn Brenig. If you fancy a spot of surfing at any time of year, look no further than Surf Snowdonia, the world’s first artificial surfing lagoon, located in Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley. Beach 25 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

The Lodge offers incredible accommodation overlooking the beautiful Afon Conwy river. A stunning detached property that's bursting with character and presence, it's the perfect secluded base for a short break or holiday.
A one bedroom property of far larger than average space, the Lodge is tucked away in the peaceful grounds of Foelas Hall itself. Guests are free to wander the Estate and enjoy the private landscape of one of the great houses of Snowdonia. An unmissable experience. The property offers a large utility/boot room area leading on to a contemporary dining kitchen, flooded with light and overlooking the river. Leading on to a small lobby area and access to a large bathroom, and then through to a cosy living room. This boasts a lovely fire place, and dual aspect windows - the perfect place to relax after a day exploring all that the area has to offer. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom with further views across the river and woodland.

The Foelas Estate lies just a five minute drive from Betws-y-Coed - a real tourist destination famous for great shopping, cafes and eateries.
