Historic details include a decorative fireplace, historic parlor doors, chandelier and plaster moulding. Guests have access to the First Floor Front Apartment via main hall entry & stair. The entry is off the front hall beyond the main stair to the left. We live in the first floor / second floor rear apartment. There are two apartments on the third floor. Guest also have access to the back garden shared space. With our design studio minutes away and our apartment in the building, we are easily available for any questions and to offer suggestions for a great stay. This is a quiet, residential, and revitalized locale, with the former home of author H.L. Mencken just 2 doors away and a historic park with fountain and gazebo across the street. Zella's Pizza and a few local establishments are a few blocks east of the park at Hollins Market. Attend outdoor concerts and chamber music events late Sunday afternoon in the park during warmer weather. Also enjoy visiting a new farmer's market at the B&O Railroad museum on Wednesdays. Union Square is a couple blocks west of Hollins Market. The market has a circulator bus stop (free) , Zipcar location, and a Baltimore bike share location. A 10-minute drive puts you in the downtown, Mount Vernon or Federal Hill. South of Union Square is Pigtown which has historic Mount Claire Park & Mansion. The park has a great hill for sled riding! We maintain a kind, relaxed environment. Our dog, Scruffy, & cat, Blur, live with us in our apartment. It is a separate unit and they do not access the main stair and entry hall.
