While the property is private, the location is ideal. Casual and fine dining can be found just minutes away. Boutiques and malls are also just a short drive from the casita. Located only 13 miles (25-minute drive) from Tucson International Airport and 7 miles from the University of Arizona and downtown.

Hiking trails up to Romeo Falls in the Catalina State Park is 8 miles away from Casita Del Rey and is one of the most popular outdoor activities. The Finger Rock trail begins at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains and offers hikers varying degrees of difficulty, culminating in phenomenal southern Arizona views and 2,000 shear drop-off cliffs. Finger Rock is a 20-minute drive from our location. The always popular Sabino Canyon, with hiking or tram rides options, gives visitors a chance to spot wild Big Horn sheep!

Patrick served 24 years in the United States Air Force, mostly as a C-130 pilot and presidential advance agent for Air Force One. After many moves, his career finally landed us in sunny Tucson. We love The Old Pueblo! Patrick now works as a government contract instructor pilot and I am a clinical therapist. When not working, we enjoy traveling or spending time with family and friends. The Casita Del Rey is a completely separate building from the main home, however, the entrance to the front courtyard IS shared with the main residence. Still, guests get a lot of privacy! Casita Del Rey even has its own, private"campsite" and picnic area -- hammock ready!

The premises include a pebble-tec swimming pool (unheated) and numerous shaded and unshaded patios. Note: the back-yard area is also shared with the owners.
