The cabin sits on a completely private acre of peaceful forest grove in Tuwanek, Sechelt. The cabin has one private bedroom, the "Ocean Room". In the bedroom there is a desk and computer for your use. There is a full kitchen and a gorgeous peaceful patio with full size Weber bbq for enjoying dinners. Fast WI-FI

It is a very peaceful cabin surrounded by large tree's. (18 different Maple Trees, Douglas Fir, Hemlock and Western Red Cedars) This provides a very private setting with a very large patio to relax. There is three seperate areas of the cabin, One private bedroom, 1 Full bathroom and an open concept living room to kitchen.

The Neigbourhood-Tuwanek

The cabin sleeps 2 people and is in Tuwanek which is situated very close to the end of Sechelt Inlet Rd road that runs north along the east side of the beautiful Sechelt Inlet. Beyond Tuwanek there is only provincial park land. As a result, it is very quiet up here with little to no traffic. This area also has a dark sky bylaw meaning very little street lighting is installed so there is very little light pollution. This translates to the most amazing stary skies at night!

A five minute walk from us is the Tuwanek Spit Beach, which is often abuzz with scuba divers.The Tuwanek area is known for world class diving. Walk to the west end of Carmel Place and turn right at the stop sign. Walk down the hill to the water. There is a second beach (Lamb’s Bay Beach) a short 5 min walk away that's a little more kid-friendly and easier to swim and suntan and you can launch kayaks, canoe’s and paddle boards very easily from here. Walk to the west end of Carmel Place and turn left at the stop sign. Follow that road 3 minutes and see beach access sign to right.
We are right along the Sechelt Inlet that provides the most beautiful paddling on the Sunshine Coast. You choose the length of paddle: from half hour to 6 hours. Maps are in the cabin. If you don’t have a paddle board or kayak there is a rental place 2 min drive up the road at Peddles and Paddles (brochure in Guest Book).
Behind us up the logging road is Mount Richardson and Tetrahedron Provincial Parks that has endless hiking trails. It’s advisable to have a rugged vehicle to get up there, and definitely chains if attempting in the winter.
About a five minute drive back towards town is Hidden Grove which has a very lovely, and easily accessible set of trails to be enjoyed by all. Another couple minutes towards town you will find Porpoise Bay Provincial Park which has a nice sandy beach and is pleasant to visit during the summer months.
There is of course plenty more to see and do further away on the Coast. A few highlights include a nice hike about forty minutes from here at Smugglers Cove, hiking/snowshoeing, cross country skiing up on Dakota Ridge, a nice drive through Madeira Park or Garden Bay, and a venture all the way to the end of the peninsula to see the standing waves at the Skookumchuck Narrows!
