**NEW WIFI** Built in 2016 on Marjorie Farm's 230-year-old property, the Crow's Nest offers a private, well-appointed retreat in a rustic setting. Enjoy loft ceilings and abundant light in this meticulously renovated 2nd floor of our barn.

It's a perfect "home base" for solo adventurers, couples, and families who want to take advantage of all Midcoast Maine has to offer while relaxing slightly off the beaten path. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, hiking, museums, and farmers' markets.

Indawo
*** COVID 19-RELATED INFO *** Our cleanliness reviews speak for themselves, but we've also added deep-cleaning procedures as required by AirBnB. We've also implemented mandatory 2-day vacancy periods in between each guest.

- Normally we take guests up to see the space, but right now we're doing all self-checkins and maintaining all CDC-mandated rules for social distancing.

- We ask guests to please stick to the driveway/walkway area, as the rest of the farm is currently off limits. Normally we're happy to give garden and animal tours, but sadly those are suspended for the moment.

*** LONG-TERM STAY REQUESTS *** Our (nearly 50%) discounted monthly rate is $1500, and this includes:

- All utilities (WiFi, water, hear, electricity, and backup generator in case of power outage)

- Fresh towels and sheets delivered every 2 weeks (we can collect dirty linens also, but will leave them to sit out for 3 days before washing them)

- A basket of our fresh farm eggs and seasonal produce at check in (if you want!)

- Close proximity to a local farm (Goranson, 9 minutes away) for you to purchase fresh produce and other items from

- 10 minutes from the town of Bath which, for the moment, is offering a good deal of curbside pickup of takeout food

- You'd be welcome to ship additional items here from Amazon, etc. as long as you let us know if/when you're expecting deliveries

*** THIS IS A SAFE SPACE *** For you and your family, regardless of race, religion, orientation, gender, or identification...if you come with love, we would love to host you.

*** THIS IS A SUSTAINABLE PLACE *** We recycle and compost. We use recycled, non-bleached paper products, reusable cleaning cloths, and as many "green" cleaning products as possible. We follow sustainable permaculture practices for our crops and animals, provide wildlife and pollinator habitats, and cultivate deep relationships with the land.

The property’s main farm house was built in 1790—when George Washington was president! Later, the owners expanded the kitchen and added a new section of the house plus the deck. The barn and driveway were then added. In 2015, Nina and Ian bought the property and named it Marjorie Farm (after Nina’s grandmother). Nina’s parents, Beth and John, then built the Crow’s Nest above the barn in 2016. They wanted a place to stay when visiting their two adorable grandchildren.

This 500 sq. ft. living space is a perfect size and has everything efficiently laid out! The western-facing windows give excellent light and gorgeous views of the woods. You'll hear country sounds – many different birds, the occasional neighborhood dog, Tikki Tikki Tembo the rooster (and if you're lucky, the donkey down the road), rain tapping on the steel roof, and wind in the trees. You are a short distance from canoeing streams, hiking trails, beaches, restaurants & shopping, historic and tourist sites in Bath, Brunswick, Wiscasset, Phippsburg, Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor, and more.

The property is 4 ½ acres and includes a large planting and livestock field, fruit trees (apple, pear, peach), a garden area (to be developed), chicken coop, horse pasture, wood shed, and forest.

Nina’s dad grew up on a farm in Illinois exactly this size and configuration. Nina’s childhood was filled with stories about John’s idyllic life there, and she was determined to have a similar spot of her own. She and Ian searched high and low after moving to Maine and finally found this perfect location. They have many plans for the future here and are glad to be able to share their paradise with their guests. Welcome!

Ukungena kwesivakashi
Please stick to the driveway and walkway to the Crow's Nest - we love having guests at The Crow's Nest but also value privacy around the rest of our farm. At this time, we are not offering tours of the animals or garden due to social distancing requirements. Thanks!

Ezinye izinto okumele ziqashelwe
***IMPORTANT BED INFO *** While the bed in the bedroom is a queen (with a luxurious Tempur-Pedic mattress!), the living room "sleeper sofa" is more like a twin-sized futon. So, it's great for 1 adult or 2 small children, but would be pretty challenging to fit 2 adults unless they are petite and quite...cuddly. ;)

*** A/C INFO *** Please note that at this time we do not have air conditioning available at the Crow's Nest. We do supply several box, bedside, and ceiling fans, but during the summer months it can get quite hot. Night time temperatures are usually manageable (we don't have A/C in our main house either), but please take temperature and humidity into consideration when choosing dates for your trip. Mid-late July is typically the most prone to heat waves.
