Our charming cottage sits at water's edge on the Bagaduce River. You will enjoy over 3.5 acres of groomed woodland and full use of our private cove and waterfront. Please note that our waterfront is shared with guests of our Hillside Cottage. We are close to Acadia National Park, Bangor International Airport, Belfast, Camden, Stonington, Deer Isle and Mount Desert Island. We welcome guests from all backgrounds - our accommodations are good for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers.

Indawo
Over a span of 3 years, our family rebuilt this little cottage that had sat empty for many years. During this major rebuild, we carefully removed and saved pieces of this cottage's history. The large beam in the common area is actually one of the beams the original cottage sat upon. We pulled it carefully from beneath the building and realized it had been signed by it's original builder. We were able to save the signed portion and now this beam hangs proudly displaying it's ancestors signature. The light over the kitchen sink is actually a globe lamp that had been used as a porch light for many years. In reality, it would have been easier and more cost efficient if we had completely removed the old and replaced with new. However, once we started working on the cottage, we found a story too interesting to completely remove and many pieces of local history. Over the past 100 years, there has only been 2 previous owners of this property. We have been contacted by both families and it's been our pleasure to welcome them back to see how we tied their history into our renovations. We've seen many tears and been thanked many times for saving this gem and bringing it back to life.

We are excited to offer our new Hillside Cottage for the 2021 season! Situated on the same property as this cottage, each cottage is very private, surrounded by woods. Each cottage enjoys full access to our 450 ft. on the Bagaduce River. There is plenty of space to enjoy the salt air and water!

Wondering what's happening at our place? You can follow us on Face Book! Just search for The Cove at Little Island Oyster Co. You'll see what we're doing to make your stay that much nicer!

There is lots to do in our neighborhood! We are located near several conservation walking trails - one you can actually get to by boat. Just down the road from the cottage is The Bagaduce Lunch, a local family owned take-out style restaurant famous for it's fried clams and haddock. There are many local artists and galleries just a short drive away.

Hi! Thank you for taking a peek at our cottage! I'd love to tell you a bit about our family..... First, I am mom to 2 wonderful daughters and wife to an amazing fisherman . We have 2 pups by our side and a flock of chickens who keep us in steady supply of fresh eggs (Yay!). Our family has been welcoming guests to our seasonal rentals for over 15 years....and we love doing so! We really enjoy introducing people to our area and helping them plan their best vacation. Did I mention that our family has an oyster farm on the Bagaduce River called Little Island Oyster Co.? Our farm is just about a mile upriver from our cottage. If you find yourself on the river, stop by and say Hi! Oh, and we LOVE sharing our oysters with guests - like we say, "The oysters are on us!" Having lived in this area my whole life, I really enjoy sharing my local knowledge with visitors. If you have any questions about staying with us, please let us know! We are happy to help!
