The cottage is a quaint vacation home with modern amenities but charm from the past. The 2nd house built on the lake, it has an old time lake cottage feel with comforts of today. Original wood floors in both bedrooms & 2nd story screened in porch that covers the entirety of the back of the home overlooking the lake. The screened in porch is the gem, according to our guests! Screened in porch is furnished with outdoor furniture, large fan to enjoy your coffee in the morning or evening relaxation gazing at the gorgeous view. Full kitchen with many amenities. Relax on the screened in porch, porch swing or a chaise lounge on the dock--all why enjoying the waterfront view.
2 Docks: 1 deep enough to tie your boat to, has ladder to jump in & swim in the private cove, or 2nd dock to relax in the chaise lounges. Boat ramps are less than 3 miles away.

MAXIMUM 6 guests including infants & children.
Sorry—NO parties, events or group gathering outside the maximum 6 guests are permitted.

We have stayed ourselves in several Airbnb's & have noted the degree we supply our guests--cannot be found in any Airbnb & we're quite proud of that. If you are experienced Airbnb'ers, it's likely you will be shocked at how much we provide. If you are new, you will likely be shocked at your next Airbnb how much we did provide!
We stock the cottage with complete sets of sheets, blankets, toiletries, towels, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, blender, toaster, can opener, microwave, mixing bowls, aluminum foil, trash bags, zip locks, paper towels, coffee maker, coffee, multiple creamers & sweeteners, cereal, pancake mix, a few condiments, milk, farm eggs, bread & bacon! Just bring yourself & your clothes! We also provide kayaks, life jackets, games, floats, beach towels, sunscreen, laundry detergent, first aid kit, fishing poles & gear, charcoal grill with charcoal & lighter What!? Yep. That's a lot of extras we spoil you with!

PETS: Very few are accepted. We do not accept shedding breeds of any kind & only accept small dogs less than 25lbs. Sorry, our small house & my allergies prohibit pets outside of these parameters. You must message us before booking to ensure these requirements are made. If google says they are a shedding breed, we are sorry, it will not work.

If you are looking for a quaint, unique lake house experience, you will not find a better value than ours. Our house has modern amenities and many extra touches, but is over 60 years old, so expect to find it greatly cared for but does show its age in some places. Almost every guest in 4 years has rated our interior very clean. The outdoor spaces are swept often, but as it is a lake house, the outdoor spaces are shared with nature and subject to cobwebs and insect on porches that want to come back as soon as we shew them away. Expect to find a very clean interior with loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside. Our guest's reviews speak best to how many have loved our home. We have many, many returning guests. We generally stay fully booked from March through October, so book early!

Our cottage sits on 2 lakefront lots and has 2 docks available for use in a quiet area of retirees with lots of privacy. Newly done 2022 huge lakefront landscape area with lakefront loungers, fire pit & beautiful stone steps right into lake! We also have a hammock lake side for you to lounge in, a grill on the ground level covered porch, 2 kayaks for you use and floats, rafts, noodles and fishing gear for your convenience. We are just down the road from the Country Club golf course & one of the closest areas to get to by land from the interstate. There are several close marinas & you can tie your boat to our dock! Southern IL is home to the Shawnee Nat’l Forest with dozens of beautiful bluffs, waterfalls & hiking. There are an abundance of beautiful wineries surrounding the area.

Hi! We have had our own rental property business for over 20 years and love being Airbnb hosts for our lake house property.
