All are welcome to enjoy our sweet, super clean and eco-friendly Mallory tiny house . Nearby are Alberta and Mississippi Districts. Enjoy organic bedding and towels, super efficient cooling and heating from our home's solar panels, bamboo flooring, repurposed/reclaimed shelves plus local/Fair Trade art- a relaxing, cozy space for guests to enjoy Portland's best! Super clean! We (our family and sweet dog, Belug) live in the main house. We all enjoy the lush garden property-welcome to Portland!

Indawo
(Super clean, use CDC guidelines and Airbnb Covid-19 protocol. I have a Masters in Public Health and want this space as welcoming and ready as we can to welcome guests, takes us 4-5 hours to clean and disinfect- that’s why we charge a higher cleaning fee.) We wanted to create a welcoming, beautiful space for our guests to enjoy what we and our sustainable city strive to be about- so we choose to offer all organic/eco friendly bedding and towels, feature local, upcycled and or fair trade art/furnishings and offer organic/local or fair trade coffee/tea. We built this tiny house in 2017- an eco one bedroom tiny house with full kitchenette. (No full sized oven but there is a toaster oven, microwave, fridge, and a great, portable induction stove top to cook with.) Yes you can drink from the tap-Portland tap water is some of the best water in the country, no need for bottled water. We installed beautiful wood ceilings over highest rated insulation and a bamboo floor, and we have highest efficiency AC and heat, Etsy and fair trade artisan bath/kitchen tiles, art and reclaimed wood table and shelves. In addition we used all low VOC, recycled paint. In addition to the dreamy Leesa mattress queen bed in the loft, there is a Crate and Barrel couch which is a USA crafted highest rating sofa bed. We offer bedding and towels that are all organic and soap and hair products that are eco friendly and ethically made. We hope the space feels restful and welcoming to come back to after a day of getting to know our local neighborhoods- within minutes are the Williams, Mississippi and Alberta Arts neighborhoods or greater Portland and all it has to offer- a great neighborhood for walkability/bikeability. (Biketown bike rental rack is 10 minutes away as is a local bike rental shop.) Please let us know how we make your stay as nice and cozy as it can be away from home. All are welcome at Mallory Tiny House!!

Ukungena kwesivakashi
Guests have exclusive access to their tiny garden house and porch. Let us know if you want goodies from the garden, we are happy to share!
While staying at Mallory Tiny House, drink our fair trade/organic coffee (or espresso) or tea and be connected via Wifi and use our smart/ cable tv with loads of shows and movies. You will have your own entry with a key, please keep both doors locked for your security. Laundromat is 3 blocks away. Checkout is at 11 as we take several hours to clean before the next guests come. Checkin at 4, Sometimes we can be flexible- just ask! We ( four 20 somethings and Marc and I) and a Great Pyrenees/Golden dog ) live on the property, thanks for keeping quiet hours for us and our neighbors- 11-7. Our dog does not run free in the yard, (escape artist) she is always on a long leash if she is. Careful as you walk on the path for her long leash. She's a super gentle, loving, big Great Pyrenees/Golden mix. If she’s not lazing around and you want to meet her, let us know. Also, please let us know if you’re uncomfortable with dogs and we will make arrangements for her to be close to us. Thank you!

Ezinye izinto okumele ziqashelwe
This is your space during your stay and we want you to feel welcome. There are a few things we absolutely need from you -we can't have drugs, smoking or vaping (of any kind) inside or outside (anywhere on the property) or loud parties, sorry. (We and others have smoke sensitivity) Mallory Tiny House needs to stay absolutely smoke free -of any kind-to be as welcoming as possible. So Sorry we cannot welcome kids to our tiny house. It’s just not set up for young ones. (Under 15 years old)
We try to be good neighbors and since there are folks near (us) and to the side of you, like any neighborhood, we ask for quiet hours 11-7. Thanks for keeping this home respectful to our neighbors- that is what building community is all about. We can't welcome your pets, sorry, we are trying to keep our tiny house as allergy free as possible. If you have a required Service dog please please let us know so we can avoid our dog from being aggressive towards your dog. (Belug loves people but can be very territorial with other dogs.) We also want to alert our other housemates who share the gate entrance with you. Thank you. We love welcoming our Airbnb guests and their friends/family however we can't have approved Airbnb members invite others to "use" their membership to stay at Mallory House while they stay somewhere else. We want to keep things transparent and connected to Airbnb. Please park in front of our house or in front of park to minimize hassle for our neighbors, thanks. If there’s no parking, try one block down on Emerson, the south side. Or across Killingsworth on Mallory. Usually it is not more than one block to walk. Like most urban areas, don’t leave anything in your car of value.
As the owners, we are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises. There’s a ladder -which is secure but steep- to get into the loft- don’t use it if you have any question of your ability. We have organic sheets/bedding for the couch in the cabinet near the couch. We also are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of our guests. Due to City Short Term Regulations, we cannot have more than 2 people at one time, sadly. There's a great little pocket park to the north of us that is great to hang out (smoke if you like here and on the sidewalk) but take the butts and dispose of them please) and enjoy the urban scene. You're welcome to enjoy the front yard garden and let us know what you'd like to pick for dinner, and we'll see what's available. Ants: It is a garden tiny house so you may see a few ants in the shower or floor who have yet to figure out they are not welcome. Just wash them down the drain. We can’t guarantee an ant free stay, so if you’re bugged out by seeing a few ants possibly, please do choose another listing. If a lot of ants come marching in, please do let us know! (Yes, that has happened once in 2 years. Precipitated by a left out old yogurt.) We will do our best to clear them out.
If you leave things behind and they are worth something to you, I’m happy to mail it to you. After dozens of hours taking care of left behind items for free, I’ll need to charge you $20 an hour for my time at the post office and for the postage. I will request the money via Airbnb. Thanks so much for understanding. We are happy to welcome you to our tiny home!

Our neighborhood is just plain old amazing. First, it is transit friendly- with several bus lines and the Max to connect you anywhere. What other city neighborhood has coffee shops, all kinds of ethnic food carts and restaurants, a library, art studios, is both walking and bike friendly, has Peninsula Park with stunning trees and roses, great diversity, a local grocery store, award winning restaurants all within minutes? It is also a 9 minute drive to Forest Park, USA's largest city forested park, by the way. Also, the Columbia Gorge and downtown are easily accessible. There is a City orange rental bike rack and a full bike rental shop a few blocks away. Explore bike friendly Portland or hop on the bus/Max (lightrail) -blocks away to zip downtown in minutes or walk just a few blocks to artsy Alberta/Mississippi neighborhood. (Our neighborhood rated high on walkability/bike-ability. ) Local food/sites: Great ethnic and vegan food carts at Piedmont Station, PCC Cascade Campus, Peninsula Rose Garden, Old Towne Brewery and Alberta/Mississippi neighborhood and the great arts venue "The Abbey" are all very near. The # 72 and #6 bus and #44 access are all within blocks. (Will have GPS maps for lots of sites in our binder.)You will be staying in one of Portland's best neighborhoods -hands down!

I/we try and take your lead. We always are happy to welcome you if you’d like that, to show you your tiny house and to give you some information to make your stay easy and relaxing. (We’ve lived here almost 30 years so we might know something you’re interested in seeing, otherwise we can find out!) We always enjoy meeting our guests and sometimes it’s by running into each other in the yard, as we garden or are with our dog Belug, as you come and go. But, If we don’t meet you, and you have any questions, we are just a text, call away as we live on the property. Let us know what we can do to make this a trip you won't forget! Enjoy!
