Indawo
Welcome to the Hiker's Holiday Home!
This apartment is located in the UNESCO World Heritage City and European Cultural Capital Weimar. The apartment is designed to accomodate up to 6 guests, although housing six adults at the same time would require them to be very comfortable with one another. There is one bedroom in the apartment, which sleeps two people in a queen-sized bed. The living room has both a Murphy bed, which sleeps one and a sofa landscape which can sleep up to 3 people. It is recommended that three children/ or two adults and one child sleep on the sofa landscape, when accomodations for six are sought. The kitchen is fully equipped will all necessary appliances for longer stays. It is located directly adjacent to a major hiking path which connects to hiking trails throughout Thuringia. It is also located a 5 minute bus ride from the city center (or a 15 minute hike). The apartment offers a completely equipt kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, freezer, coffee maker, etc.) as well as a washing machine/dryer for those hiking "accidents". Maps of local hiking trails and informational brochures for points of interest are also available for use. The living room features satellite TV, stereo and dvd player with game port. A shopping center with grocery store is a 3 minute walk away. The bus stop is 1 minute away. We ask smokers to please refrain from smoking in the apartment. There is a two night minimum stay. . . . . .

Ukungena kwesivakashi
The entire apartment is available to guests.

Ezinye izinto okumele ziqashelwe
The city of Weimar requires guests staying in hotels and vacation facilities to pay a 1 Euro/night/adult cultural tax. This money will be passed on to the city and helps to support cultural activities throughout the year.

Weimar, Thuringia, i-Germany

Located directly next to a vast nature preserve (Prinzen Schneise) the living room features views directly into the woods. Local hiking trails connect up with official state-designated hiking trails allowing hiking or biking excursions of up to 50 km and more.

This apartment was redecorated with the support of employees of the Bauhaus Museum in Weimar and other experts, in order to provide guests with the opportunity to experience the Bauhaus style. Weimar was the original home of the Bauhaus, which was founded in 1919.

Also, if you are a history buff. Weimar has the unusual honor of being home to or having welcomed and housed many famous people. For example: Hans Christian Anderson, Marlene Dietrich (who studied at the music conservatory), Franz Liszt, Johann Sebastian Bach (who spent some time in jail here), Mies van der Rohe, Henry van de Velde, and many, many others. For some reason, all of these famous people saw something in this little town with a population of just over 65,000 inhabitants. I also find it very refreshing and invigorating to spend time here. When I am in Germany, I live in this apartment.
