Our home is perched on the side of a hill in Doolin village over looking the Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands.

Located on the Burren Way and over looking the Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands, we are right in the middle of Doolin village allowing you to stroll across the bridge to Gus O'Connor's pub where you can enjoy wonderful traditional live Irish music and great food.

The spectacular coastal walking trail linking the village of Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher and on to Hags Head starts right outside Sea View House.

Doolin has a lot more to offer other than just great pubs, craic and ceoil. Here are some other attractions that this vibrant village has to offer.

CLIFFS OF MOHER AND THE DOOLIN CLIFF WALK:
One of the best ways to experience the Cliffs of Moher is the spectacular coastal walking trail along the cliffs from the village of Doolin all the way to village of Liscannor taking in the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience and Hags Head along the way. The walking trail begins right outside our door!

The Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher section of the walking trail is 8km long and takes approx 2 hrs each way. It is possible to get a bus from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience back to Sea View House.

Our neighbour and Local Farmer Pat Sweeney organises guided walks along the trail from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience. The walk starts at 10:00 am every morning just across the road from us at Gus O'Connors Pub and takes about 3 hours. There is no need to make advance reservations.

The local ferry companies run hour long trips from Doolin to the bottom of the Cliffs of Moher. The Cliffs of Moher are home to one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland and this is a great way to see them. Trips normally run from 12:00hrs to 17:00hrs. There is no need to make advance reservations.

THE BURREN AND CLIFFS OF MOHER UNECSO GEOPARK:
We are located in the middle of the Geopark which offers fantastic hiking and walking opportunities!

The Burren, is a great rocky expanse and, is one of the world's truly unique places - it can support Arctic, Mediterranean and Alpine plants side-by-side. Its ancient, awe inspiring stone structures hold secrets from the past that may never be unravelled. It is home to the longest cave system in Ireland, the largest Stalactite in Europe, the Burren National Park, the Carron Nature reserve and a host of wild flora and fauna waiting to be discovered.

There are fantastic walking and hiking trails through the Burren. You will find lots of detail on the following links and we can also help you select the best trails during your stay with us.

ARAN ISLANDS:
Ferries run from Doolin pier to each of the Islands. We are perfectly located as a base for a day trip, we recommend Inis Oirr the smallest and closest island. Inis Oirr is only a 30 minute ferry trip away and offers you a glimpse into a different world. You can tour the island on foot, by bike or by Horse and carriage. It also has some lovely places for lunch. Boats normal leave Doolin around 10:am and its possible to combine a trip to Inis Oirr with a trip to the bottom of the Cliffs of Moher.
We can advise you on the best places to visit on the island. There is no need to make advance reservations.

We are happy to advise you on all attractions and options on your arrival!

Your hosts are Darra and Niall Hughe. We know what it takes to cast off your worries, sink into a vacation and to taste and feel the place you’re in. Doolin-born Darra learned hospitality at her mother’s knee just across the road in Horseshoe House. It was one of Doolin’s first farmhouse bed and breakfasts which her parents opened on their farm in the 1970s. Darra has always had a close link with the farm and as a child she would rise early to bring the cows in for milking and collect freshly-laid breakfast eggs for her mother’s guests. To this day Darra’s own children carry on this egg collecting family tradition. Niall first came to Doolin from Tipperary in his twenties and fell in love with the place, the people, the music, the Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands. Two years later he fell in love again and married Darra right here in Doolin Village. In the Irish tradition, Darra’s father gifted a plot of land to the newlyweds where their dream of Sea View House was realised and their house was built to take advantage of the outstanding views of Doolin with a deck and terraces overlooking the Aille River and the Atlantic Ocean. Twenty years later Sea View House has grown and evolved from the simple accommodation of earlier times into the award winning bed and breakfast Darra and Niall are so proud to welcome you to today. We have high standards and a passion for local, sustainable produce which has gained us recognition in our innovative use of local, hyper local and foraged ingredients. In our eyes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s why we personally prepare our guests’ fresh and sustaining breakfast every morning with some of the best raw ingredients in the world. Not only is Niall a keen cook and gardener, he’s also an accomplished horseman and carries on the tradition of the family farm where Darra’s grandfather kept Irish Draught horses and thoroughbred stallions. Darra’s father, Paddy, developed and grew the dairy farm on the lush land in Doolin which also provides the nutrient rich soil for Sea View House’s poly tunnel where Niall grows organic ingredients essential to his unique, creative and award winning breakfasts.
