This charming, mid-century home is located just 1.4 miles from downtown. Close to everything, centrally located and yet on a quiet mountain road with mature trees, privacy, and wildlife! It is the perfect home base to explore all Asheville has to offer.

Enjoy a mountain escape within a few minute's drive of downtown, the River Arts District, West Asheville, and the Biltmore Estate.

We take coronavirus seriously and disinfect the home thoroughly between all guests following Airbnb's protocol.

Indawo
The home has an open floor plan with a sunny kitchen and dinette. There's a comfortable living room area with large windows looking out into the trees. A door off the dinette opens right onto the deck. Sunlight comes over the mountain and into the kitchen and deck for morning coffee.

The deck overlooks the yard and mountains beyond. The home is on a quiet road. We have Carolina Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse, Red Cardinals, Blue Jays, wild turkey and lots of other wildlife. There is a Peterson's Field Guide to Birds supplied. Sit in the sunny dinette with built-in bench seating and map out your adventures into the Pisgah National Forest, the River Arts District, Downtown, and West Asheville.

The home has a gas stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, washer, and dryer. There is no oven. Most utensils are supplied as well as pots and pans, and a tea kettle.

There is a coffee maker, grinder, and fresh roasted coffee beans. The water is hot right away and there is a great shower head. It has central AC and heat. There are six stairs to your private entrance. There is high-speed internet but no television. There's no smoking allowed anywhere on the grounds.

There are two bedrooms with memory foam queen mattresses, and a third queen bed is available to sleep six. Linens are supplied, high thread count 100% cotton sheets, a quilt, four hypoallergenic pillows, quality towels, and washcloths. Blinds block out the sun for late sleepers or get up early and watch the sunrise from the deck.

Located on a low mountain between downtown and Tunnel Rd. breakfast opportunities abound, as well as a major supermarket, all less than 3 minutes from the house.

Downtown Asheville is just a 5-minute drive. You can walk over and down the mountain to town in about 25 minutes and then Uber home for around $6. West Asheville and the River Arts District are a 10-minute drive.

The Biltmore Estate and Biltmore village both neighbor the Kenilworth neighborhood and are just 2 miles away and about a 5-minute drive.

Windswept Drive is just up the hill offering some of the best views of the city found anywhere. There's also an access point to Beaucatcher Mtn Park, a mature forested oasis just above the city. It's accessible from the house for walkers or runners who don't mind climbing, otherwise, there's parking at the trailhead.

I live on site but will respect your privacy and stay out of the way.

Ukungena kwesivakashi
Guests access the main floor of the home as well as the deck and off-street parking. I live on site but will respect your privacy unless you need me.

Fun Fact: Helen's Bridge just up the road, was featured in Thomas Wolfe's novel, Look Homeward Angel.

"As they went under the shadow of the bridge Eugene lifted his head and shouted. His voice bounded against the arch like a stone. They passed under and stood on the other side of the gap, looking from the road’s edge down into the cove."

Asheville, North Carolina, i-United States

The home is located in the historic, forested Kenilworth neighborhood, known for it's beautiful and eclectic old homes. Our quiet road attracts walkers, runners and cyclists from all over Asheville.

Just up the hill is the famous Helen's Bridge. Constructed in 1909, it is the carriageway to the historic Zealandia Estate. Construction began the same year with the same architect as the Biltmore Estate.

Views of downtown reward the walk up to the bridge and another 15 minutes downhill will put you in the heart of Asheville. An uber costs around $6 for the same journey and usually comes within a few minutes.

Entrepreneur, business owner, Caribbean charter boat captain and sailor. I've spent my life making people happy on vacation, from the Mountains of Colorado to the US Virgin Islands. I've always loved welcoming visitors to awesome travel destinations that happen to be my home. Asheville is a wonderful small city. I like coffee, bookstores, farmers markets and bicycles. I also love great restaurants and outdoor activities. No wonder I moved to Asheville. As a host I like to completely disappear unless I'm needed or wanted, then I'm here to help, offer local tips, make reservations, arrange transportation or whatever you need.

I'm happy to stay out of the way unless you want me. I can offer local tips on where to eat, drink, dance, adventure or curl up with coffee and a book.

Ask me how to find Foundy Street, Asheville's newest area, to see remarkable graffiti, hit a cafe, bike shop, skate park, brewery, food trucks and barbecue. I spend a lot of time exploring Asheville and can recommend the best food trucks, fun hangouts, breweries, live music, scenic drives and hiking trails. I'm also a lifelong cyclist and can set you up with road or mountain bike rides. Some of the best road rides in Asheville start right at our front door.

I'm always available for any concern that may come up and you will have my personal cell number.
