Indawo
The property is situated 30 minutes drive from the Volcano National Park and 20 minutes drive to Hilo. The room has a cal king bed and additional quests can be accommodated on a queen size inflatable air bed. In addition to the master suite, there are 2 other bedrooms available in the same house if you have more people in your group to accommodate. Click on view my full profile to see other rooms. The master suite is on the 3rd floor of the house situated on 3 acres of tranquil Hawaii paradise. A large propane barbecue grill is available on ground level. The property is situated on catchment with a relatively new 15000 gal tank, granule filters, charcoal filter and UV filter which makes the water completely safe to drink. In addition the refrigerator has it own filter to the drink water dispenser. The property is in close proximate to the Volcano National Park, lava tubes, steam vents, numerous water falls, zip line, tsunami museum, Mauna Kea Observatory, Botanical Garden, Orchid farm and many more to see.

I have books and maps available to be used for planning your excursions. So the Big Island is a very special place, with one of the few active volcanoes in the world. A must see is the Volcano National Park. You can see volcanic steam vent holes and walk on numerous hiking trails. Here are some pf the free things you can do: the Akatsuka Orchid farm, snorkel and look at the colorful tropical fish small and low key Panaewa zoo, stop at South Point (Ka Lae), the most southern point of US territory, green sand beach, Rainbow falls, the boiling pots, snorkel/swim with dolphins at Hookena or 2 steps, St Benedict`s Painted Church, walk the Hilo down town stores and fruit market place, visit the Captain Cook Monument at Kealakekua bay, walk down the spectacular Waipio or Polulu valleys, travel up Mauna Kea to look at the Observitories and stars through the telescopes set up at the Onizuka Center for International Astronomy, swim with the ocean turtles or see them sleep and bask at many of the more secluded beaches on the island, like Kiholo Bay and Punalu'u Black Sand Beach,. Tan and swim at many of the white sand beaches, like Magic Sands, Hapuna, Mauna Kea, Makalavena, visit many of the historic Hawaiian centers on the island and bath in the water fall at the Kolekole Beach Park. These are only but a few things you could do, to many to mention.

Paying things would be, visit the Tsunami museum, Akaka Falls, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, take a fight on the Blue Hawaiian helicopters, swim and snorkel with the manta-rays at night, Zip line across the Akaka falls or rain forest settings, ATV and horse riding excursions, variety of boat and catamaran activities being offered. Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding could also be a fun activity to do.

My wife Lisa and I are a loving and laid back couple. I have been on the island for 16 years and my wife was born and raised here. We are animal lovers and have a mature dog Milo and an adolescent dog Roman who are allowed inside the common area of the house on the bottom floor. This area includes the living room and kitchen. The Tropical room is also located on this first floor. We have a menagerie of other animals too! 3 cats who live outdoors...Phoebe our calico little old lady, Leo our orange lover boy and Koa who is an energetic crazy but loveable cat. 3 female guinea pigs who are not quite the friendly type and Avery our little bunny rabbit. I have created a lush landscaped orchard environment around our 6 bedroom house, by planting almost 200 trees/flowering plants. We enjoy meeting guests who travel from all over the world and learning about them and their culture. My wife and I live here full time along with my mother who's more part time. Cathy is a busy bee and always has a full schedule of events planned gor herself around the community. My daughter Chanel is sometimes at the house as well. We enjoy meeting our guests, but we give you your space and also enjoy our space as well.

I live on site and am available as needed. I am available as a tour guide. I am familiar with the island as to what it has to offer, since I lived on the West side for 5 years and 6 years on the east side. My charges is normally $20/hour and if needed I can supply a vehicle at and additional $5/hour plus gas. This might allow you to forgo on renting a vehicle. Feel free to inquire more if interested.
