The Superior Suite at Basecamp Bungalows is a vacation rental located in beautiful Grand Marais, Minnesota with easy access to downtown, Lake Superior, North House Folk School, Grand Marais Art Colony, and the many trails and parks in the area. This newly renovated building is now open for business.

The Superior Suite is a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment with large picture windows that give you a view of Lake Superior. We have a fully stocked kitchen with all of the cooking equipment you'll need to make your own meals or have a cup of coffee before heading out for the day. Games and DVDs are provided in the room if you're looking for a quiet night in and information about local hiking trails and night life if you'd like to get out.

Keith bought the old Fenstad's Motel, now Basecamp Bungalows, in August of 2016 and has been working to completely renovate it since then. Most of the work has been done by Keith and Laurel with the help of many friends and family members. We opened our doors to guests in the summer of 2018.
In our spare time (which can be scarce between jobs and construction work) we enjoy spending time outdoors with our dogs. Laurel loves to hike and can give you suggestions on some of the best spots in the area for blueberry picking or enjoying some peace and quiet away from the crowds. Keith is an expert on the local cuisine and is always ready with a recommendation for where to grab a bite to eat (or a beer).
