This two-bedroom apartment in an owner-occupied home is secluded in the heart of Fort Payne, a Main Street Alabama community -- and just a 20-minute drive to DeSoto State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve and Mentone, Ala. (45-minute drive to Chattanooga)

As the only house on its street, this home is surrounded by beautiful woods, yet is just a few blocks from historic downtown Fort Payne, with its two city parks, restaurants, shops, museums, antique stores, festivals and concerts.

Indawo
The house was built in 1940, with an addition in 1952, and is full of character, including wood floors and ceilings. As an older home, things are not perfect, but everything you need should be functional and clean (if not, please let me know and I'll do everything in my power to correct the situation as soon as possible). I am restoring and updating the house as my time and resources will allow.

The home is situated on more than 2 acres of land. The layout is open and spacious, and the king-size bed is super comfortable. The setting is park-like and serene, yet you can walk or quickly drive to attractions, stores and more, and this combination makes the house unique. We often see deer, foxes, raccoons, ground hogs, turtles and owls on the property. Birds, squirrels and chipmunks are abundant.
