We have a cozy, smoke-free 2 bedroom (+ sofa bed) cottage set on 10+ acres on the Northumberland Straight in Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick.

It is approximately 1 hour drive to Moncton and a short drive to Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island. A good central location for your base while sight seeing all the Maritime attractions.

Indawo
The well equipped kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, stove and microwave as well as a drip coffee maker (and coffee & filters), kettle, toaster, blender and a variety of pots and pans. The cupboards and refrigerator are stocked with a variety of spices, condiments, sauces and other staple items for guest use, if they so wish. But there is still space for your own food.

NEW (May 2020): a Keurig machine. Bring your own K-cups.

The 4 piece bathroom includes a full size tub/shower as well as full size washer and dryer (with laundry detergent and anti-static sheets). An abundance of towels and cloths are provided. Sample size soaps and shampoos are also available.

Bedding is provided for the 3 beds: queen, double & sofa bed.

NEW (April 2020): a chest of drawers and console in the spare bedroom. Guests in that bedroom now have a place for their personal items and luggage while still providing storage for bedding.

A TV (for streaming and casting), DVD player (and small selection of movies) are available as well. A spare Ethernet cable is attached to the tv for guests to connect their own game console. A small selection of board games and jigsaw puzzles are available for evenings and rainy days. Some outdoor games are also available as well as water toys. A printer is connected to the wifi if you have the need to print.

A full size dining room table is available for indoor dining and a picnic table for outside dining. A BBQ (propane gas), & lawn furniture are also available for your outside enjoyment. A new fire pit was installed in July 2019. A box of firewood may be available under the side deck.

New flooring (ceramic tile and laminate wood) was installed in the spring of 2018 when the interior of the cottage was painted. There is electric baseboard heaters as well as 2 portable heaters if the nights get chilly (remotes in basket with remotes for media equipment).

NEW (May 2020): Stairs down the cliff to the beach. Still a work in progress, but they are useable with caution.

Future plans include a deck across the front of the cottage and patio doors to the deck; light fixture over dining table.

Ukungena kwesivakashi
Guests have full access to the 2 bedroom cottage and most of the outdoor property, including outdoor furniture, games, fire pit and BBQ.

The garage, machinery, boat and other vehicles are not available to guests. There is also a camper parked on the property for our occasional use. It is parked in a location to not impact on our guests. We will notify guests if we will be using the camper while they are using the cottage and surrounding space.

Ezinye izinto okumele ziqashelwe
1) Please be honest in your booking as to the number of guests.

If the reservation indicates only 1 adult, that is all that we plan for. If the reservation is for 6 adults, we would ensure there is sufficient bedding available.

2) Legere Legacy is not just a rental cottage. It is a cottage actively used by extended family and made available to guests when not being used by family.

The accommodations and decor is that of a well loved family cottage, not an impersonal, sterile, hotel with minimal facilities.

If your expectations are for a high-end hotel-like experience you may be disappointed. But if you want a cozy, well loved family vacation home, this is the place for you. We may not provide a mint on your pillow, but we have a candy bowl in the living room.

When equipping the cottage for guests, we have tried to provide everything we would want/expect to have provided as a guest.

Any items in the cupboards and refrigerator are available for use by guests - if they so wish.
