This walk-out basement apartment is located in a quiet neighbourhood, on a quiet street, minutes east of Cole Harbour. We are also just 10 minutes from local beaches. Downtown Halifax is only a half hour away.

Our family of 5 lives upstairs. The children are 5, 2 and an infant so a certain amount of noise should be expected.

While here, you can relax in the cozy and spacious living room, or enjoy the outdoors in the covered gazebo or in the hammock. And spend the day in the heated pool!

Indawo
This is the perfect spot for a family with kids of any age, for people doing some work from home (if you don’t need absolute quiet), and for guests who are looking for a wonderful location from which to launch day trips in the province.

There is a picnic table for your private use in the backyard and a portable BBQ. You are also free to use our patio, which has a gazebo and heated pool built into the deck, whenever you like! Just remember that we might also be using it at the same time. If you would like exclusive access for a specific amount of time, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

THE POOL

The swimming pool is well locked down for children’s’ safety. There is gate access to the backyard forest.

SWIMMING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND
YOU MUST SUPERVISE YOUR OWN CHILDREN.

The backyard is fenced in, with gated access to the forest, should you wish to explore back there or build a fort as well.

If you’re bringing children with you, feel free to use all of what the backyard has to offer.

We also have wildlife that lives around the yard. Last year, there was a pair of broad-winged hawks living behind the house which sometimes hunt right outside your door! We also have black bears in the area and one has been seen in the back yard, on the forested side of the fence. For this reason, I do not recommend allowing children outside the fenced in area unsupervised in the spring.

We are minutes away from Lawrencetown Beach, which is a popular place to windsurf. We are also near Conrad Beach, which is a lovely sandy beach.

The nearest shopping (grocery/drugstores/restaurants) is Cole Harbour, which is less than 10 mins away.

My wife and I live upstairs with our 5-year-old , 2-year-old, and newborn, and someone is usually at home. They get up at 7:30ish, so you can expect to hear some footsteps starting around that time. You might hear our infant crying, but his room is on the opposite side of the house from the guest bedroom downstairs. During the day, please expect the full range of childhood noises as our kids play. (Likewise, let your kids be kids without worrying that you are disturbing us!)

There is a door between the basement and upstairs, which will be kept locked. We will need to access the laundry room/pantry, which is the only shared room in the basement.

Also, I work at home, and so will need to access my office throughout the day, which is a private room in the basement. But I will only do so between the hours of 9 AM - 5 PM.
