Colibri Hotel in Mayto is a small, bright, breezy, bohemian styled hotel nestled at the foot of a hill that steps off directly into the warm sand with access to 2 crystalline virgin beaches.

This particular room (A) offers a 1st floor entrance with a private bathroom and 3 full size beds. There are comfortable Adirondack type wooden chairs outside the room for your outdoor lounging.

The space can comfortably accommodate 6 adults in the 3 full size beds. There is A/C in the rooms and hot and cold water in the shower. People visit from around the world for the tranquility and abundant nature, so to inspire you to go outside and disconnect during your stay we do not have TV’s in the rooms. There is, however, WiFi.
Wildlife is abundant here. It’s great for bird watching, the occasional lizard will visit (sometimes even in the rooms) and during turtle season there’s a turtle camp down the beach that does daily baby turtle releases. In rainy season you’ll be up close and personal with crabs, they’re deaf and hilarious if you’re into that’s sort of thing. If you enjoy snorkeling you’ll have a great view in the water near the rocks, good enough even for spear fishing!
During whale migration season you’ll have a front row seat to see them pass with their families and often times we get passing dolphins and jumping sting rays too. On occasion the sea has bioluminescent plankton that lights up the sand and sea at night, that is absolutely spectacular, but also random.
The neighboring hotels have food service, and a small restaurant in town delivers to our guests, but keep in mind that there are no ATM’s or banks nearby so make sure to get your cash in Puerto Vallarta before coming down. There is also an amazing fishing village about 8 minutes away with stellar seafood and world class oysters. Our neighbor hotel has bar service as well and is about 30 seconds walk from your door.
We do not have a swimming pool, but there are a few neighboring hotels that do and they offer day passes for the use of their facilities.
Keep in mind that beaches are unpredictable. It could be as calm as a swimming pool or the wind could pick up and there be huge crashing waves. Both are stunning, but there’s no telling what you’ll get. Also the summer here is very hot nd humid, but as I mentioned before the room is equipped with A/C.

We have a view of ‘Lovers Beach’ to the South and Mayto beach (14 km of virgin beach) in front. A short walk down the beach gets you to the turtle camp. There are a few small kitchens in town and 4 ‘tienditas’ or town stores also. About 8 minutes South (driving) is Tehuamixtle which is our favorite place to eat seafood. They also have Kayak rentals there or you can rent a ‘panga’ by the hour if you want to get out on the ocean. If you come to surf, there are a few secret beaches between 15-30 mins away we can help guide you to. Mayto beach itself is great for skimboarding. If you’re looking for a fishing tour we have an amazing contact, but he books up quickly so let us know with as much time as possible to connect you. We also have a masseuse from a few towns over that can come give you a massage on the beach (subject to availability).
