Indawo
The cottage is in the valley, so there are views of the lawns, and the higher mountain. The river is behind shrubbery, yet a fine swimming hole is nearby.

The seasonal pool is across the lawns and trails are up the hill.

Basecamp for hikes into the Blue Ridge - up Old Rag and White Oak Canyon Trails, a 7 mile drive up Robinson way to the back entrance, avoiding the heavy traffic.

Fly fishing basecamp on our two mountain trout streams.

The main lodge, for three meals a day - family farmhouse style southern cooking - is 2.5 miles upriver, where there is also the Jr Olympic size pool for you, stables, fishing, hiking and guided activities (rock climbing, fly fishing on Rapidan- naturalist hikes).

Meals: we have "old style meal plans" at 20% discount for 2 or 3 meals a day, down at the farm lodge with our Family Style, home cooked southern restaurant where all folks dine at long communal tables. This is community here and a continuation of farm dinners at big tables through the three centuries that we've farmed the valley. You can join a meal plan at the lodge for a 20% discount, while 14s and under get a 50% discount - half price - with 5 and unders are for free.

Plans are for 2 or 3 meals and packed lunches are part of the meals for you. Margie and Margaret run our kitchen and they will look after you, whatever you want (if they can lay their hands on it). Or just drop in for a meal. Margie won't say no, nor to your third helping. For the fourth, though, she may give you one of those up-down looks.

First off this is the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Park is 7 miles upstream, with Old Rag and White Oak Canyon trails a seven mile drive up our other trout stream, Robinson River.

We are the Graves Family. We've been farming this land - the valley and mountain slopes - since 1740. We farm primarily apple orchards with some cattle, goats, and hay fields. You'll see it all but let us know if you fancy a farm tour. We are a family of six. Rachel and Jimmy are our - Lynn's and Lucky's - Mom and Dad. You'll meet them if you come to the Main Lodge and Restaurant - a southern family style restaurant, three meals a day for our guests at the Main Lodge or cabins. Find Jimmy and you will find many mountain tales. You'll likely see us all, the whole family, down at the restaurant lodge. We are frequently there with our team for meals - and joking with Margie and Margaret who run cook stoves and bakeshop. For help with fishing, hiking, riding, wine tours, sightseeing, please come to see us at the Lodge and we'll fix you up with advice or a guide, or a license down at the Mercantile.
