It is a cozy room with some comforts here at our Laitila home. We have built a comfy skylight dome house, perfect for camping. Visitors can also enjoy the wood burning sauna, terrace for grilling, and the firepit if you enjoy the campfire experience. There are numerous walking paths you can take if you are looking for an adventure, our property is surrounded by open fields and woods, with a swamp nearby. Only 50km from Turku downtown.

We are a Finnish-American couple and love our home so much. We are happy to have people from all over come visit us to experience the life here and to also learn from others.

Laitila is a quiet place about 50km from the heart of Turku. Our skylight cabin is small but at the same time spacious and very comfy. The room includes a mini fridge and microwave for quick and easy meals and a small heater in case it is cold. You will also have access to a firepit nearby the cabin where you can camp out and grill too. There is a terrace if you prefer for grilling and sitting as well on the other side of the lot by the main house. There is a wood burning sauna and shower in a seperate building, and there is a warm and clean outhouse.

Our property is set up as growing farm, Niiralan Tila. The farm was established in the summer of 2019 and we are always looking for ways to improve and expand.

Enjoy beautiful walks through the village, woods, fields and even the swamp nearby. If you do not wish to go alone, we are more than happy to join you and show you around. Depending on time of the year there are chances to gather fresh berries and mushrooms to enjoy. Much wildlife can have a chance to be seen like deer, moose, fox and perhaps even wolves. There is also lake with small beach and a pier 7 km away for swimming.

Our village is super nice and quiet, neighbors are friendly and always greet with a smile. You will find many enjoying walks around the area. We are 15 km from the city center where you will find supermarkets, banks, schools, pharmacy, restaurants and shopping.

As we like to say, it is like going to Lapland but not going so far north. The area is so quiet and peaceful, not at all like the citylife.

I moved to Finland from the USA in summer of 2017 to be with my husband. We live in a countryside growing farm and hope to make a nice experience for guests when they come stay with us as a dream of ours is to meet many new people from all over and to show them how we live as a Finnish American family. Someone will always try to be home during your stay with us, so it will not be difficult to reach us if you are in need of anything. However for weekday schedules are different because of our full time work elsewhere, so property is locked up with exception to WC, showers and sauna.

We try to give you space while here so you can relax and enjoy your visit but don’t be afraid to approach us for conversations.
