Our family-owned, renovated, 1-bedroom apt. is clean, quiet & spacious. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood, the apt. is located on the top floor of our house overlooking a park & the Mississippi River. Enjoy a sun-drenched living room, bed w/ goose down comforter, a full bath, kitchen, and central air conditioning. We are near the U of MN, Augsburg U, and M Health Fairview Hospitals & Clinics. Our Airbnb was closed for over 1 year due to COVID, but we have reopened as of June 2021.

Our historic home is uniquely located within the national, state, and city park systems on the only naturally occurring gorge of the Mississippi River. After 14-years successfully renting our apartment to university professors & musicians, we decided to renovate it in the summer of 2019 for Airbnb stays. As licensed Minneapolis landlords, our house is up to code and well-maintained. Our former tenants have described the apartment as a peaceful space to be productive and relax. Several books, dissertations, and music compositions have been written in this apartment!

This apartment is ideal for a writing retreat, a quiet space to work, or simply a place to relax. It is most comfortable for 1 person, but can accommodate 2. It has a sofa bed in the living room. This is ideal if you're traveling with a colleague or friend and would each like your own sleeping arrangements. If you'd like more than 2 people to stay at any time, you must let us know BEFORE you book by sending us a message. The space is not set up for children or pets.

The living room: includes a desk, small bookshelf, spacious closet (w/ umbrellas and cleaning supplies), sofa bed, and a new flat-screen, smart TV.

The eat-in kitchen: is fully stocked with dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, cookware, glasses, coffee, tea, and granola bars. It also has a toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and a new dishwasher and fridge.

The bedroom: has a new queen-sized bed (as of 1/2/20) with a goose down comforter. There is also a full-length sized mirror, luggage rack, and a table for your toiletries or it can be used as another work space. The closet includes an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, extra blankets and towels, hangers, and storage for clothes.

The bathroom: has a sparkling clean tub and shower, soft Turkish cotton towels, and a large medicine cabinet stocked with a few unopened travel sized toiletries. We recommend that you bring your own toiletries to stay COVID-19 safe.

Each room has Wi-Fi and central air conditioning.

We provide a convenient self check-in and 24 hour access in the front or back doors of our house. There is one complimentary parking space in back and parking across the street is always free. The parking space is a typical size for an urban lot. If you are not used to city lots, it may seem small to you, but it is actually generous in size for a South Minneapolis residence.

We are available by phone/text during your stay. We will respect your privacy and safety during COVID-19.

The cleaning fee goes to our teenaged son. He is learning how to clean and do laundry. This is truly a win-win situation for us all!

We have blocked off dates in September 2021 onward because we would love to host a long-term stay (ideally for 4-12 months). If you are interested, please send us a message.

We are outdoor enthusiasts who purchased our house to be close to the Mississippi River road trails for running, walking, hiking & biking. Our neighborhood is geographically located in the center of Minneapolis. We are only a couple blocks away from the freeway exit, and most city streets will take you anywhere you need to go including to neighboring St. Paul (only a few miles away). Seward Community Co-op is w/in walking distance and has a hot bar, deli, coffee & bakery with gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. We are LGBTQ & BIPOC friendly and want everyone to feel welcome in our space.
