Sittin Pretty Tiny House is perched up on Dach Ridge six miles out of Viroqua just off County NN offering lovely views across neighboring farm fields toward the western horizon. Surrounding woods with a walking trail give an intimate sense of the natural world. You are in the heart of Amish country and the goings and comings of their agrarian lives give a sense of another time. 1/4 mile walk down the road, at the nearest Amish neighbor, you can buy produce in season and eggs.

The tiny home is just that: Tiny! 300 sq ft! However, lofty 10' ceilings and many windows give a spacious and sunny feeling upon stepping in. You'll have a snug feeling when climbing up the stairs to go to queen sized bed in the loft with only a 3' ceiling. Surrounded by windows on three sides, you'll have a good look out! The interior is covered in birch plywood, with walnut live edge shelving and custom made concrete kitchen counter and bathroom sink. The spacious shower is beautifully tiled with a marble floor and offers a relaxing rainfall shower head. A well furnished kitchen includes a convection oven, five burner gas stove top, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, dishes, cups and bowls. The water is from a 300 plus ft deep well. It’s what other folks that live on the property drink. Sittin Pretty Farm practices a caring stewardship so expect a clean and well cared for accommodations. Expect to hand wash your dishes. We reuse things like dish sponges, drying dish towels. Remember we are in the country so we sometimes encounter the occasional mouse and certainly bugs and flies have their season!

The Tiny is part of Sittin Pretty Farm which is part of a not-for-profit called Further Along. The farm includes 3 houses that are listed on Airbnb and a community kitchen/gathering space for up to 99 people. The farm is in the middle of Amish paradise! There are eleven neighboring Amish farms offering everything from maple syrup to leather boot repair! Remember to take care to look for their buggies on the road especially at night and low visibility conditions. Also as part of their beliefs, they request no photographs even from a distance.
We are also only a 10 minute drive from Viroqua where there are coffee shops, acclaimed restaurants, vibrant down town shopping scene, a lovely art gallery, and Farmer's Markets on Saturdays and Wednesday nights in season.
County highway NN is a popular touring bike route with many connecting highways that along with local mountain biking trails at Sidie Hollow and Hubbard Hills make the Driftless a premier biking spot. See Blue Dog Cycles in Viroqua for gear and info.
Trout fishing streams are also within 15 minutes. With the Kickapoo Reserve and the Mississippi River about 40 minutes away. Stop by the Driftless Angler, fly fishing shop in town for the scoop.

I’ve been an educator for over thirty years. Currently run a non profit that focuses on getting folks together for adventure and service learning trips on a sleeper coach bus.
