Sleep in a turn-of-the-century Victorian farmhouse in the scenic hills of middle Tennessee. The state's oldest railroad line came through Normandy in 1853 and still carries frequent freight trains day and night past our front porch while whistling for a nearby crossing. Some find trains romantic, others not so much. We're 3 minutes to the George Dickel Distillery and 26 minutes to Lynchburg and a Jack Daniel's tour. There's kayak and canoe rentals here in season and a lake beach for swimming.

Where you’ll be

Normandy, Tennessee, United States

Historic Normandy was established in 1852 with the construction of Tennessee's oldest mainline railroad between Nashville and Chattanooga. The CSX trains still roar day and night through town between our front porch and the downtown area and are readily audible from your room as they whistle for the nearby crossing. Light sleepers, take heed. Our village is ideal for leisurely strolls past turn-of-the-century frame houses with wide porches and friendly waves from the neighbors. Normandy is located in the heart of Bedford County's outdoor recreational area with kayaking and canoeing on the Duck River or Normandy Lake to which F.A.B. Rentals will deliver you and pick you up in season. There's also hiking trails, a lake beach for swimming, and fishing and camping sites. There are several restaurants and lounges within a 15 minute drive of Normandy in nearby Tullahoma.

Hi! I'm a former Nashville resident, a veteran of the music business, and a Christian music songwriter who loves old houses and living in the country. I formerly owned and operated a five bedroom upscale Victorian bed & breakfast in the U.S. for ten years and have traveled all over the continental United States including Alaska. I've made both working and pleasure trips to Europe, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. I love this beautiful earth the Lord has provided for us and look forward to every day being a new adventure. Enjoy your stay at the Old Farmhouse at Normandy. Shalom!
