Nestled peacefully in an idyllic location and surrounded by the rolling countryside, this traditional, detached holiday cottage, accessed down a private country lane and close to the owner’s home, makes a perfect holiday base for guests wishing to explore beautiful Pembrokeshire. The former coach house (built circa 1804) has retained much of its original charm and character, with lots of welcoming touches including a log burner for those cosy nights in. Outside, guests can enjoy their private garden or explore the field and woodland walks which flourish with wildlife.

Travel cot and highchair on request (we do not supply cot linen, as per UK health guidelines). We welcome up to 2 dogs at no extra charge. Large dog crate (h77 w72 d108cm) available on request. Welcome pack of bread, milk, butter, eggs, Welsh cakes on arrival. The property has a natural spring water supply from a well, fully filtered and tested for drinking. All pillows are enclosed in a soft protector. All mattresses are fully enclosed in a zip-on protector.

The cottage is located half a mile from the public road, on a shared bumpy part-tarmac, part-dirt private road.

During the high season (Easter holidays to early September), we normally only accept weekly bookings, with a Friday check-in. Outside of the peak season, we generally have a minimum of 3 night stays, with check-in on a Friday or Monday. Out of peak season, we will consider requests for non-standard stays for specific dates, but always with a 3 night minimum. Our booking calendar is open up to 9 months ahead. We don't charge a cleaning or pet fee, but there is a small charge for more than 4 guests, to cover extra laundry, cleaning, etc.

The cottage has a private outlook across the fields, with no near neighbours (apart from the owners' neighbouring farmhouse, a short distance away, behind the cottage - the 2 properties are separated by gardens and trees, so each retains privacy). There is little or no traffic noise, as there are no nearby public roads. You will find a variety of birds will visit, including woodpeckers and goldfinches. In the evening you may see or hear the local Tawny and Little owls, and also see bats flit about. There is a good local network of signposted footpaths and bridleways, ideal for walking the dog. A local footpath brings you to an ancient "cromlech" burial tomb half a mile away, with panoramic views to the south. The wider area has lots to offer, including fantastic cliff top walks along the iconic coastal path, or enjoy a tranquil stroll around the nearby secluded backwaters of the tidal Cleddau river (part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park). Just a short drive away are the picturesque harbour towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot, offering unblemished beaches, irresistible restaurants, art galleries and thrilling leisure parks. Take a trip to Skomer island, and see the comical puffins in the nesting season. Visit the small city of St David’s, which features the iconic 12th-century cathedral, or take a sea safari around the magnificent island of Ramsey and get up close to seals, sea birds and the occasional dolphin. Golf and horse riding can also be found nearby, and there's also a variety of beaches within 5 to 10 miles.
