The Royal Oak features a very comfortable antique queen size bed and has views of the Garden and river. The luxury en-suite bathroom has a claw foot bath where you can relax under the light of the chandelier. The heated floor and large shower add to the luxury which is topped off with a magnificent view. The oak trees at Boscobel are grown from acorns from the Royal Oak in England. They can be viewed from the North facing balcony, a lovely place to soak up the sunshine and view the garden.

Indawo
Boscobel was built in 1885 and is set amongst magnificent trees and gardens. The guest rooms are situated upstairs and have had extensive award winning renovations that incorporate history with modern luxury. West Ulverstone, Tasmania, i-Australia

At Boscobel we’d love to help you make your North West Tasmanian experience a most memorable one. With our local knowledge and love of the area, we’ve compiled a personal list of our favourite things to do. If you have any special interests please let us know and we’d be happy to recommend some additional experiences for you to explore.

Cradle Mountain

The magnificent Cradle Mountain is just a 90 minute drive from Boscobel, making it the perfect day trip. On arrival call into the visitors centre for friendly recommendations on which walks would suit you best. The two hour walk around Dove Lake is one of our personal favourites.

Stanley and the Nut

Stanley is a great destination for a day trip from Boscobel. Stop in at Boat Harbour on the way and in season the tulip farm at Table Cape is magnificent. At Stanley you can climb or take a ride up the Nut and visit the historic Highfield house. The quaint fishing village of Stanley is perfect for wandering around with its many cafes and specialist shops.

Ulverstone Beach

The pristine local beaches around Ulverstone are beautiful and great for walking and swimming. The main beach at Ulverstone is patrolled by the local surf club with the local favourite Beach Hut cafe just a short walk away.

Cycling

There are some great cycling opportunities around Ulverstone’s, beautiful countryside and coastal routes. We’re both keen cyclists and can recommend and direct you to many lovely rides for all levels of fitness. The mountain bike tracks at Penguin (10 minute drive from Boscobel) are an excellent ride and suitable for different levels of skill and fitness.

Leven Canyon

Several walks lead you through a beautiful rain forest to a spectacular lookout over the canyon. There is also a lovely picnic area to stop and enjoy some of the amazing local food you’ve picked up along your way and there are amenities near the car park.

Bush walks

Mount Montgomery is just one of the magnificent walks beginning just a 10 minute drive from Boscobel. The Dial Range of Mountains can be seen to the West of Ulverstone and most of the peaks are an excellent walk of 1.5 - 4 hours duration. Sturdy shoes and some fitness are required but it’s well worth the effort.

I am in my 50's and avoid looking in mirrors these days. I have had many different "careers" and enjoy trying new adventures with my husband David. Gardening, reading, walking and cycling are some of the things we like to spend time doing. Studying theology part time has been occupying me for a number of years. I love a good coffee or wine with friends new and old.
