Welcome to The Pirate’s Wharf, the perfect waterfront family-friendly suite located on South Main Street in Historic Bath NC. We are a 1-Bedroom, 1-Bath, single story private suite with an efficiency kitchen and living room, located within Bath’s largest private home, built in 1890. Our suite has superb views of Bath Creek, high speed wireless internet, basic cable, zoned HVAC, and wrap around porches. Enjoy everything Bath Creek has to offer, as well as the small-town sense of total relaxation!

Indawo
We're central to everything in the historic district, and located on Main Street, just blocks away from Bonner Point. Most of the town's historic sites are a short walk away. Quaint older home that once served as a portion of Bath's first doctors office (1900-ish) and first hospital (1920s); this structure was built in the infancy of the 20th century and has all the character you'd expect, with an upgraded lifestyle. Washington & Belhaven are within 20-minutes and Greenville is just 40 mins away.

The home was built between 1885 and 1890 and was home to the first physician and surgeon. It was converted to a 5-room bed and breakfast in the 1970s and then back to a single family space in the 1990s. We took possession just this year, curating the perfect Pirate themed 1-bedroom 1-bath suite with a separate entrance, remote controlled HVAC, and waterfront decks to enjoy on every side.

Our home has been lovingly preserved, while adding the modern touches that we expect today. The first level of the home features over 1900 square feet of 12-foot-wide covered porches, as well as the owner's spacious kitchen and living areas. Guest interaction will be minimal unless enjoying shared spaces; we're happy to give you the privacy you desire, or join you for an afternoon beverage.

The suite will be equipped with a king bed with memory foam bedding, fresh linens, a pirate themed library, an efficiency kitchen setup including half-size refrigerator, ice-maker, dining area, and a 4-in-1 microwave, broiler, toaster w/ convection capable cooking. An adjacent living area with leather seating, television, cable and wireless internet will be available. Construction and renovation is still occurring (4/17/21); calendar and photos continue to be updated as we progress.

Bath, North Carolina, i-United States

The small town, barely over a square mile in area, hugs the waterfront of the Pamlico River and Bath Creek in virtually every direction, and is well stocked with historic residences and buildings that pay tribute to a rich history filled with pirates, Indian wars, and fierce political rivalries.

The town's main claim to fame is its storied collection of historical homes and structures, (including the oldest church in North Carolina), and its unique past which is along sordid tale of political power and corruption, piracy, and Indian wars which almost destroyed the late 1690s settlement before it even got off the ground.

The best way to enjoy a detailed account of this history, from the occupation of Blackbeard the Pirate to the local sacrifices of the Civil War, is with a walking tour along the scenic Water, Carteret and Main Streets, where many of the more famous residences can be found, (including the Palmer-Marsh House, the Van Der Veer House, and the Bonner House), as well as a network of wide scenic sidewalks and waterfront parks overlooking Bath Creek.

The small parks and community walkways within Bath are among the prettiest along the Inner Banks with iron-wrought benches and sitting areas adjacent to Bath Creek, and ample piers and waterfront walkways to enjoy an up-close waterfront view of the Pamlico River. Extensive walkways connect the Visitors' Center, Van Der Veer House, and Palmer-Marsh House, and picnic areas are located along the way, (namely adjacent to the Bonner House), for an effortless lunch in a picturesque locale. Comprising such a small area, it takes just a couple of hours to explore all the historic attractions on foot, and spring and summer visitors will be rewarded with stunning gardens and pristine landscaping adjoining all of Bath's historic stretches of homes.

The Visitors' Center features regular guided tours of Bath's historical highlights, as well as a video presentation which is shown every 15 minutes. Chock full of local and regional information, the Visitors' Center also features a gift shop with all things Bath, from local books to apparel and souvenirs. Just across the street from the Pirate’s Wharf is the Pirate Treasure Shop, where you’re sure to find handmade gifts and local arts and crafts; the perfect way to make yourself a local!
