San Francisco, Nayarit, i-Mexico

San Francisco, Nayarit, Mexico, more commonly known as San Pancho, is a quaint little surfing village renowned for its beautiful sunsets. This area has increased in popularity as it is conveniently located 40km from Puerto Vallarta International Airport. San Pancho lies between the lively party town of Sayulita (5min drive) and Lo de Marcos (16min drive).

There are many things you will love about San Pancho. At least this is what made us fall in love with this small town. We had travelled to the busy party town of Sayulita several times in the past. As our priorities have changed as we’ve grown older, we heard about the peace and tranquillity of San Pancho.

And that's what we found.

The small village of San Pancho sits on a tranquil bay at just 5 minutes drive from Sayulita. Therefore if you are missing the party life you can still make a quick trip there. San Pancho is comprised of one main road that leads to a spectacular long stretched beach, and several cool little side streets filled with studios, restaurants, bakeries, butcher shops, and more. Other than a few restaurants at the entrance of the beach, all the rest of the playa is pure free and deserted sand where you can easily walk undisturbed by vendors.

The village is made of only 2000 thousands souls watching over each other, which means that crime is close to zero, cause they would easily catch the fool.

But life in San Pancho, although very tranquil, doesn't end on the beach. The town offers everything. You can enjoy golfing, surfing, surf lessons, hiking, amazing restaurants (Barracuda, La Ola Rica, Mr Ribs, Bistro Orgánico, Maria’s, Cervezeria, Dolce Amore, La Voz de Mi Tierra, just to make a few), tours to Islas Marietas, several Yoga studios, and Spanish classes.
