The Old Schoolhouse Casita was a school for miner's children from the Cleveland Mine in the Gila that operated in the early 1900s. It was moved to our property here in Little Walnut Village nestled in the foothills of the Gila sometime the 20s. It obviously has been remodeled several times including upgrades this year. We are only 4 miles from town and only a mile from the Gila National Forest. This 950 sq. ft. casita is roomy, but also a cozy spot for two people. Please see "other notes".

Indawo
The interior affords many neat features. You will sleep in a new kingsize bed. The den has a HD TV with Roku options including Netflix and Prime. The DVD player is available with a large selections of music and movie videos. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, milk frother, and espresso machine. Your first cups of coffee are on us. We want to introduce you to Abbey Roast created by the Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in the Gila. The casita showcases photographic and other art media. Also there is a fine art image nook in the den. The front deck has a place for sitting. The huge backyard has a private hot tub, fire pit, and a 14' high deck with a camp kitchen beneath it that provides a mini frig, portable stove, and BBQ grills. These amenities are for your use only. We certainly have a good cell signal in this area. We also have a wireless router inside that picks up a good WIFI signal.

We have 5 acres that you are welcome to roam. There is a trail that meanders through the property. There are two decks that afford great views. There are no neighbors to be seen, and there's screening around most of the property for privacy. There is a seasonal creek (more like a spring) about a 15 min. hike from the casita where you might want to picnic.
Also it is possible to hike into the Gila from the guesthouse as well.We are surrounded by grassland and forest. Wildlife abounds.
