Hi,
I've been running a holiday let and restaurant since the 90s in Cornwall before even Airbnb existed! Then I joined Airbnb in Oxfordshire in the 2000s and now Pembrokeshire.
We run Willow Cottage and live down the road from it. Before that I ran 'The Garden Room' Watlington, Oxon for 7 years. You can see my old reviews on my profile.
We run the cottage on Airbnb, by private referal and from local advertising. So not all our guests by any means are from Airbnb and they may or may not fill in the visitor guest book. Through the winter we often take in longer repeat holiday lets too.
We've run this cottage through local cottage companies and now with Airbnb, through repeat bookings and first time bookings directly through us. Our bookings in St Davids are from Thursdays to Mondays (4 nights minimum stay/short break) and Thursday to Thursdays for the week. Contact us if you have a particular date requirement and we'll see if we can fit you in. You may have been before or are coming for your first visit.
I've had a very different career as I am a Dispute Resolution Mediator, Project Manager for building projects and new internal systems for large corporations. Working as a team at the local manorhouse for each new weekend guest list to running a restaurant in Cornwall. After that I worked for a bespoke interior design and fabric company. I've moved from providing one to one client support whether on a building project or implementing cost management changes in a large commercial broadcaster. Robin's had a long career in cars, trucks and classics. A welder and classic vehicle restorer, theres not much he can't do! Now we're regenerating, replanting and restocking a small farm down the road from Willow.
We're part of a family of four children. Though you can hardly call the older 3 that! The last one is 18 and almost through school. When we have a break, we travel a lot in a caravan and spend all of our free time in Pembrokeshire or Ireland and Scotland.
I work from home or rarely, away with clients and am self-employed. I also train regularly so may be away on training days. Robin is into everything mechanical and cars. We have a lot of fun with vintage cars and motorbikes. Either way one of us is around mist days to help.
Working at the local manor and hosting guests there has made me aware how important when you have downtime to have special thought and effort made on your behalf when you go away. For the business in Oxfordshire we wanted you who stay with us to feel relaxed and as private as you want. Or you can join us for a meal, a BBQ or just a chat and a drink on the patio. Or let us know you want complete privacy. The time here, whether on business, an escape, passing through, visiting family or wanting to explore; we're here to make your stay what you'd like it to be. You tell us!
So let me know before you book anything and everything you'd like and we'll try to help. Particularly any allergies or sensitivities to scent and laundry chemicals or any special dietary needs. It's very important you touch base with me before you book to ensure I know what you need. If Willow doesnt suit you, say so and that's absolutely fine. I occasionally have bees in the hive here on the farm and we have chickens here too so you can even have really fresh eggs and ask if we have any honey to purchase. Just book a box from us.
Above all enjoy your stay and prior to booking, ask as soon as possible what you need and are expecting. None of us are telepathic and it helps to be very clear what your expectations are before either you or I confirm the booking.

Phakathi nokuhlala kwakho
The Watlington Guide Directory lists everything here in the beautiful brick and flint town from a fresh bakery on a Saturday, the Granary Deli, three pubs, a butcher, local store, fish and chip shop etc. We can recommend local places to eat within walking distance or a short drive away as well as places of interest, travel options and beautiful walks in the Chilterns. If you are cyclists we can provide space to lock your bikes in and keep them dry for the night.
There is a wonderful little Spa and beautician here as well as a surgery, dentists and two hairdressers.
