With endless green pastures to roam, National Forest to explore, a balcony with the perfect sunset views and a river to frolic in... you'll never want to leave this slice of quaint cottage heaven. This 2-bedroom, light-filled stylish house is perfect for a small family or romantic escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Toast some marshmallows by the fire pit, play a game of pool at the iconic Pub With No Beer, get in a surf at Scott's Head beach or just relax and do absolutely nothing!

Little Farm is nestled on a beautiful working regenerative farm. Regenerative farms are all about the health of the land and soil and use very little to no chemicals or fertilisers. In doing so they can help reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere by sequestering it into the soil. You might see our farmer Mick occasionally moving the cows from paddock to paddock, give him a wave, he's one of the best blokes you'll ever meet. His wife Deb is my co-host and she is absolutely wonderful. She might even stop by to top up your wood supplies. :)

You can walk for miles up the back of the property or wander down to the river. Bring your own canoes and lilos and float your worries away. We also provide a picnic basket and rug for those warm river days. The kids can frolic in the water while the parents relax on the hammock or chairs provided. Adult supervision is of course recommended at all times.

Inside, you're be cosy in the winter months with the fireplace, stocked with wood for your convenience. Plenty of books to read for those rainy days and a TV to keep you company. Both rooms have the most beautiful linen from I Love Linen for the best nights sleep and big fluffy bath towels. There's also a desk in one of the rooms for those who need to attend to a little work. Wifi throughout the house. (you may need to reboot it from time to time if it appears to be disconnected. Off and on should do it). There is no service at the little farm but you can connect to wifi or use the landline to call out in emergencies (it wont call international or mobiles)

It's important to note that Little Farm is an actual farm surrounded by nature. That means you may comes across the occasional spider (usually Huntsmans - don't worry they wont hurt you), frog, kangaroo, cow, birds, lizards, goanna, or even a snake in the summer. You may not see any of these but we do have to warn you, this is NOT the city.

In the kitchen you'll find all the utensils you need to cook up a good feed. We also provide essentials like tea, coffee, long life milk, cookies, marshmallows, hot chocolate, salt and pepper, and oil and vinegar.

In the summer months you'll want to pack your swimmers for the beach and river. Average temp is 30 degrees.
The winter months are incredibly beautiful, with morning mist and dew. You'll be sung with the fire but please pack your warm clothes! There are electric heaters on both beds to keep you extra snug at night.

Relax in the bath with a vino and watch the sun turn the sky pink through the big windows. Toast marshmallows around the open fire pit. Throw a sausage on the balcony BBQ, or put your feet up and finish that book you've been meaning to since forever.
You'll never be bored at Little Farm, and you'll never want to leave.

Little Farm is located in Yarranbella - which is about a 15 to 20 minute drive inland of the main town, Macksville. It's quiet, relaxing and incredibly beautiful where Little Farm is and the community is incredibly lovely. Despite being seemingly in the middle of nowhere, Little Farm is actually surrounded by some pretty iconic places. For starters, Slim Dusty's 'Pub With No Beer' sing was written just down the road at The Pub With No Beer. This epic pub serves great food and despite its name, plenty of beer. It's perfect for families with heaps of space for kiddies to run around. About a 15 minute (beautiful!!!) drive.

Next: You wouldn't think shopping would be on your list, but one of our favourite places to visit when we're at the farm (our family farm is just up the road from Little Farm) is Bellingen, or Bello, as we like to call it. Bello is super cool, has great shops and is about a 40 minute drive from Yarranbella. It's a vibing town with great cafes, eateries and often live music. Not to mention fab markets. Definitely worth a visit and the drive is pretty beautiful too (once you exit the highway).

The Beach!! Hello surfers and beach lovers. Scott's Head is a stunning beach, great for surfers and very family-friendly. Bring your beach umbrella and get comfortable. There are a bunch of cafes that serve REALLY good coffee and toasties and good food. But make sure you get there around lunch time if you want food or you'll miss the lunch service. (Country folk like to relax in the afternoons! - a little bit like Italians). Scott's head is about a 30 minute drive from Little Farm. Again, the scenery is lovely.

Finally, of course, I must mention Macksville itself. Macksville has some great little shops and cafes. It's also where you can do all your grocery shopping and fill up with petrol. The Star is a great big Hotel on the river that does a great classic dinner menu. Steak and chips, burgers, fish of the day etc. Sit on the balcony and enjoy the laughter of the locals as the sun sets.

Also, Little Farm has a beautiful river that all our guests have full access to. You'll need to walk about 300metres through the paddocks to get there, say hi to the cows along the way... Follow the track, over the bridge and through the next gate. Then along the track until you get to another gate. Go through that (or over) and you'll come to a clearing. We have provided chairs to sit on and hammock (already down by the river) and a picnic basket and rug is available in the house to take with you if you so desire. You may of course bring your own floating devices (canoes, lilos, rubber tyres etc) with you. We don't supply these for obvious safety reasons.

Walks on the property: You can go on great long hikes all the way up the back of the property. It goes on for miles and is a beautiful walk to do in the afternoon to catch the sunset on your way back. Just make sure you remember how to get back. There is no way of us writing this down for you. Please take a phone incase you get lost.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: Please take note that there is no fence by the river to keep kids out once you are down there. We take no responsibility for water accidents and urge you to please keep your eyes on your children at all times. Having said that, we all grew up as kids playing and picnicking down by the river. It's has a very shallow mouth and gradually gets deeper. But we do recommend adult supervision at all times.

For such a quaint, undiscovered spot, there is actually so much to do around Little Farm. We hope you love it as much as we do.
