Welcome to Whitewater Farm and thank you for checking us out! We currently offer two listings on our farm: this Rustic Loft space which is great for families and groups as it features 5 beds or an adorable Tiny House (see link in my profile) which is a great fit for singles and couples looking to try out tiny house living.

Indawo
Welcome to Whitewater Farm! My husband and I live along with our two sons (one infant and one toddler) on this property that has been in our family's hands for over 30 years.

This rental is for the newly renovated loft space above our detached three stall garage. It currently features 3 twin beds, 1 full bed and 1 queen bed as well as a living room area with two couches (one is a sleeper sofa), large screen HDTV with Netflix, and VHS/DVD player. The remaining 1/4 of the space is filled with a kitchen nook featuring a traditional coffee maker, toaster oven, hot plate and mini-fridge.

There is *no* running water in the loft, so guests have full access to the two bathrooms and one shower located inside our home, which is approximately 100 feet away from the loft space. It is open for use 24 hours a day and we will not be disturbed whatsoever by guests coming and going as we've been hosts for 7+ years now!

We also have an outdoor shower (with hot water) and an outhouse available for guest use for those who prefer to stay outside of our home and enjoy a truly rustic "camp-like" experience. More details below:

Details on the bathrooms in our house: one bathroom is on the first floor past the kitchen and the second (with guest shower) is up the steps and to the right. This access is available 24/7 and guests should feel comfortable coming in and out of our house at any point. We are so used to it and truly live by the saying “our home is your home!”

There is also a working and very clean traditional outhouse located 100 feet from the bottom of the loft steps for a true farm life experience. And finally, we finished building an outdoor shower with hot and cold water that is along the pathway to the outhouse. Guests may use this at any time of day or night.

Please note: If there are more than 2 guests, there will be an additional charge of $10 per person per night age 3 and up. Children under the age of three are not charged. Maximum number of guests permitted is 7 people. Keep in mind there are only 5 beds, so sharing would be necessary.

Also, please note that this space is only rented out to one group (or individual!) at a time so you will NOT be sharing the space with strangers, even if you book as a single guest.

The style is rustic but with plenty of charm. Guests should expect coffee and/or tea in the morning. Cream and sugar available. All other food is supplied by guests, but they are welcome to use the oven, stovetop, and microwave in our main house to cook meals. The loft features a mini refrigerator that is quite spacious as well as a toaster oven. Jugs of fresh water are also provided in the loft for making coffee and/or drinking.

I provide you with fresh bed linens and towels for your stay. Please bring outdoor/pet towels with you for swimming in our pond or river as I ask that the ones I provide stay inside.

During summer months, the windows and doors can open to provide a cross breeze and there are 2 fans available for air circulation. During the fall/winter/spring months, there are 2 space heaters and I provide warm down comforters on each bed. Bring layers for nights below 25F but otherwise the space heaters do a great job.

Pets:
On our property we have 1 dog and 2 cats that spend their time in our house and yard. They can be completely unattended whether inside or outside. The animals do not spend time in the loft rental area. We do not permit other pets.

Check in is anytime convenient to the guest after 3pm. Checkout is 12 noon.

Ukungena kwesivakashi
At Whitewater Farm, every window holds an amazing view! The entire property is surrounded by lush Pennsylvania forest and farmland. Corn, soybeans, oats, wheat and potatoes are the main crops that you pass as you drive up our road on the way to the rustic loft.

There are hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails within our 156 acre property and a gorgeous river which white water rafters flock to throughout the year; hence, the name Whitewater Farm. Rafters arrive from near and far to take on the challenge of the Nescopeck River that cuts through the property! There is also a large lake that guests can swim in or catch and release fish from. Feel free to bring a kayak if you have one!

Guests on our farm typically enjoy walking or running on the nature trail (there is a 1 or 3 mile version). The area holds a variety of wildlife, including deer, raccoons, migratory birds, and all the other native species of the Blue Mountains. Note: the longer trail can be very muddy during the wet season. Please bring DEET spray to keep the bugs/ticks at bay and check yourself anytime you come out of the woods. A trail map is provided. Guests who hike the property and/or visit the barnyard must fill out a Liability Release Waiver upon arrival.

Ezinye izinto okumele ziqashelwe
We have a friendly dog on site as well as two cats. The pets do not have access to the loft space.

In our backyard, we have a barnyard complete with several chickens, rabbits, and our 2 goats (River and Jill). Our rooster (Rudy) crows in the morning so if this sort of sound affects your sleep schedule, please reconsider booking with us. The barnyard can be visited by guests at any point during daylight hours and guests are welcome to bring healthy snacks for any of the animals (lettuce, carrots, apples, Cheerios) or buy some directly from us at the Barnyard Snack Dispenser (25 cents per handful).

If you enjoy hiking, I have set up and maintain two trails on the property: one is quite short and travels around the pond to the north of our property. The other is 3 miles and goes along the edge of our farm fields then enters the woods and meanders along the edge of our beautiful Nescopeck River. A trail map is provided. Guests who hike the property and/or visit the barnyard must fill out a Liability Release Waiver upon arrival.

Hi folks! My name is Blakslee (pronounced Blake-slee) and I was born and raised on a working potato & grain farm in northeastern Pennsylvania, which has greatly shaped my character and passions over the years. For the past decade, I traveled across the country numerous times for work, yet considered my tiny apartment in Philadelphia to be my homebase, but in 2012 I returned to the town in which I was raised with my husband in order to start our life together on the farm. My husband is now a full time farmer and I opened a horse boarding stable and riding lesson program in order to put the 1890's dairy barns back into business. The farm has three historic farmhouses located upon it (the oldest one dates back to 1840!), so I've also found myself deep in the middle of renovating and redecorating them as well. The farmhouses, farm buildings, and the land are chock full of history and my husband and I are so proud to call this area of Pennsylvania"home". We look forward to sharing it with you! My life motto is: "I will have spent half my life in the city and half in the country, having enjoyed every second of each."

Phakathi nokuhlala kwakho
Running the 2000 acre farm and horse stable (as well as raising our sons) keeps my husband and I quite busy, but we are always available if guests have any questions and we spend most evenings on site.
