Guests have access to living room, private bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, front porch space. Decorative items in the home are not of the "designer type," and mostly commemorate signifcant family people, memories or places. There is room on the porch for storage of bikes or hunting/fishing equipment, and the smaller bedroom features a working 1960's Craftomatic style massage bed. There's also a well worn piano for use by guests, on the front porch, and a glider swing in front yard. The neighborhood is safe to walk around in at night. The bathroom’s oversized enclosed tub has a shower with pebble tile surround. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, coffee pot, stove, oven, microwave, pizza oven and whatever goodies are in the frig, including coffee and creamer.

This is a quiet residential neighborhood which was destroyed in the fires of 1918, and rebuilt during the early 1920's. The two-story home relative to this listing was built in 1920, and has five bedrooms and two baths. At the back of this property there is a small historical structure called a "Red Cross House." After the fires of 1918, the Red Cross put up many very small temporary houses for people to live in until their larger homes could be rebuilt. The "little red house" behind the main house on this property is one of about 300 which still stand in Cloquet today.

I retired in 2014 from a great job as a grants and endowment coordinator for a local public school system. Now I rehab houses in preparation for their listing on the real estate market. I love all the restoration and detail work of older homes. I also love to dance --west coast swing, two step in particular. Health and fitness are a top priority for me. I have lived in my present home--where I host Airbnb guests-- for over 20 years. For ten years I operated a licensed adult foster care in this space but now it is dedicated to travelers who need short term housing. The space is pretty quiet and I am gone a lot. I care a lot about people and their well being, but am not one to engage in a lot of conversation--so your stay here would be peaceful and without much interaction with me. Happy traveling!
