Enjoy your Straddie beach holiday in style at this fully airconditioned island home overlooking Moreton Bay.

Stroll to the bayside beaches, cafes & shops in Dunwich.

You won’t want to leave once you step through the doors of this charming island house. Over the past 20 years of living in this property, we have focused on creating a comfortable, unique, and relaxing atmosphere, and we want our guests to enjoy the place as we did.

Both levels offer a self-contained, spacious, open-plan layout which flows seamlessly onto outdoor decks, allowing for guests to enjoy both privacy as well as communal experience. Both levels have two bedrooms, bathroom and indoor and outdoor entertaining areas providing lots of flexibility and space for guests to relax.

Begin your day with breakfast with the birds on the upstairs deck overlooking Moreton Bay. Our local kookaburras and magpies are always keen for a visit, and keep an eye out for rainbow lorikeets in the winter months!

The house is the perfect spot for doing anything…or for doing nothing at all. Take advantage of the best the island has to offer, and when you come home from exploring, wash off the day’s sand and salt water in a corner bathtub with rain shower head, and relax in the hammock on the deck. When it’s raining, cosy up with one of our eclectic book selections on the daybed or reading lounge in the comfortable living room.

The upstairs kitchen features granite benchtops and stainless steel Smeg and Electrolux appliances. The open plan layout allows the chef to be part of the action, and the kitchen is stocked with all the cookware necessary to whip up a gourmet meal. Snack on lychees plucked off the tree from the upstairs deck, and pick a lemon or lime from the garden to squeeze over your Straddie-caught seafood.

In the evening, retire to the expansive master bedroom with cosy sitting nook, and enjoy stunning views of Moreton Bay. Sleeping options upstairs can be tailored to your requirements, with a queen-sized bed and double futon bed in the air-conditioned master bedroom, a double bed in the smaller second bedroom, and a king single daybed in the living room.

The downstairs apartment is also fully self-contained with its own separate entrance, but can be accessed from inside or outside stairways, so you can choose how much you interact with your fellow guests. Send the kids downstairs to the large lounge area with its own outdoor deck, while you enjoy a spectacular sunset in the bay breezes on the top deck.

Downstairs there are two air-conditioned bedrooms with queen beds, one of which is separated from the main living area by a privacy curtain. The second bedroom features designer French and bi-fold doors. This apartment has its own bathroom and shower, and a kitchenette for when separate meals are called for.
There is a 5 night minimum stay for all bookings during QLD school holidays.

Sorry, no pets allowed.

Dunwich, Queensland, i-Australia

Dunwich is your first port of call when arriving to beautiful North Stradbroke Island from the mainland. It is convenient to bayside beaches and boat ramps, and hosts a variety of local Quandamooka artisan shops, restaurants and clubs, and even our local museum. Straddie, as the locals call it, is a relaxing fishing and beach destination, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Straddie Bay Views is centrally located in easy walking distance from both ferry and water taxi terminals, bus stops, shops, and cafes as well as local art galleries and the museum. Two peaceful bayside beaches are only minutes away, perfect for swimming at high tide or exploring at low.
Attractions in Dunwich include the native wildlife, with kangaroos and koalas often seen along the shoreline and in parks. It is a short 15-minute trip by bus or car to nearby Point Lookout and Amity Point, on the ocean side of the island, where you can enjoy surf beaches and an array of dining options. Brown Lake, a large natural fresh water lake is less than 10 minutes drive from the apartment, or can be accessed via a 45 minute walk through native bush. Direct four-wheel drive access to Main Beach is only 15 minutes away. The property is ideally positioned for access to the local boat ramp opening onto the many fishing spots that Moreton Bay has to offer.
