A wonderful wine bar with true gourmet food; you'll feel like you're in a cosmopolitan city. Try whatever seafood or fish they have on the menu - it's probably local and caught yesterday.

A gathering of food trucks usually during the M-F workday lunch hours, sometimes going into the evenings. Great local catering - look out for the bright orange Tasty Traveler van serving up salmon and Alaskan rockfish tacos and "thai-rritos." Outdoor seating, partially covered. May 2 - August 19 in 2016.

The BEST rooftop deck with outdoor seating overlooking the inlet. Service has been a little slow (they just opened July 2016) but the location is stunning on a sunny day. Full food menu too.

Entertainment & Activities
Walk or bike up the "West High Hill" that borders Minnesota Ave (on the trail system) or the "Spenard Road Hill" bordering Spenard (also on the trail system) for a unique experience watching a second-run movie with first-rate pizza, burritos, and sandwich food and great beer in comfy theater seats with tables. The adjacent Bear Tooth Grill is a favorite restaurant with slightly more upscale Mexican, Asian, and fusion fare, often using local ingredients. Try the Banh Mi (spicy) Burger or the Mexi Combo Plate. Save room for the Chocolate Mousse!

My favorite spot to watch the sunset over Cook Inlet and Mt. Susitna (Sleeping Lady) across the water. Park off to the right just above the train tracks. Or just walk.
