The Museum-Studio is in the middle of the large building and exhibits works by the man who built it: Uruguayan genius Carlos Páez Vilaró, a multifaceted artist and muralist par excellence.
The rooms are replete with paintings, pottery, and sculptures from different stages in the artist’s life.
The Museum also has a video room, showing documentaries about his life and work.
A tour of the building takes you through five halls and three terraces, and you sense how the architecture is shaped by its corridors and pathways, arcades, and objects embedded in the walls.
