Nature
The garden at The Old Chapel
You will find that the garden at our chapel is full of "weeds", many of which we encourage as they provide food for bees, bumble bees, and other insects. There are also insect hotels and nesting boxes, wood piles, and a large heap of cut-offs, to encourage the diversity of wildlife.
If you look out of the window and don't move for a while there is a good chance you will spot a pheasant, a hare, rabbits, birds (apart from the usual robins, blackbirds, blue tits and pigeons there are bull finches, blackcaps), and later at dusk swallows and then bats.
There are 2 water butts and we are always grateful if our guests use these to water the pots. Herbs are there for guests to take, including marjoram, mint, lemon verbena, rosemary, fennel, and lovage. If you can, find wild garlic a bit further afield.
