Fine dining in a very pleasant and inviting setting. Great food, excellent wine and superb value for money for this quality of menu. Local produce, superbly presented and with friendly service - probably one of the most stylish restaurants in the region!

One of the best "secret" little bar/restaurants around. Great ambience, really good food and terrific value for money. The service is quick (for France) friendly and attentive. Bar Le Potron Minet is a busy restaurant, especially with locals so, book in advance, or get there early! L'Escale is a great place to stop and get lunch or a fabulous ice cream and it has the absolute BEST views of Lake Vassiviere. The menu is good, portions are excellent and the prices are about right. The service is good but not overly friendly, especially when they're busy (the whole of Summer) but don't let that put you off - try to use a little French and then they'll help you out with ordering. Last time we went we had Salmon Taglietelle, a glass of wine and shared an ice cream...and sat and enjoyed the view. A perfect day.
