Beautiful old market place in the center of the city, freshly restored and ready for a visit. It lost a bit of its charm, but at least you’re not running the risk of getting hit by a falling something or another anymore.

Táxi services from the airport
Do NOT, under any circumstances, agree to a ride from some random “taxi driver” who chats you up just as you exit customs and enter the airport arrival level. These are scammers trying to take you for the “proverbial ride.” We suggest the UBER or BOLT apps, as they are very affordable and practical in Portugal. Otherwise, exit the airport building and catch an official taxi at the stand outside. If you don’t have long trips planned, a rental car will most likely be unnecessary as well.
