There are numerous parks to visit near Deception Pass. Our favorite is north of Deception Pass, Rosario and Bowman's Bay. There is an easy hiking trail between them. Washington Discovery Pass required or $10 day pass.

There are hiking trails at the park, but we usually drive to the top for stunning views over Puget Sound and the Skagit Valley.

Then a walk down the gravel road and between two bodies of water leads to an island with a gravel road, a level path on the south side, and a scenic hiking trail on the north side. A favorite shop is the Wood Merchant which is more like a woodcraft museum. Another favorite for jewelry and scarves is the Caravan Gallery. Merchandise is from all over the world.
