These are the local restaurants that I find myself going to over and over again. Sometimes with my family, sometimes with friends, sometimes with just my husband.
I like the location, beautiful 15 minute drive south from Lake City on Hwy 61. It gives us a feeling of "going out" but we don't get home at midnight from a dinner date. I like the atmosphere, lots of things to look at. Sometimes when you've been married for a while you need inspiration for conversation. The food is good, the service is consistently great. They craft their own beer, me I like crafty things. They are right on the river, it is beautiful.

This is a nice sit down spot for breakfast and brunch, they are locally owned with excellent service and atmosphere. This is a 6 minute drive on 61 south from our house.

This is family, locally owned - GREAT PEOPLE. Great food and fast service for a reasonable price. I enjoy in particular their salsa. I ask for it made with extra kick. I believe they serve a milder version to regular customers . I personally enjoy a little hot spice with my food. This is a 6 minute drive on 61 South from our house.

This is family, locally owned - GREAT PEOPLE. Great food and fast service for a reasonable price. I enjoy in particular their salsa. I ask for it made with extra kick. This restaurant is under (newish) ownership. They have an original Kelly's Bar in Red Wing, on Old West Main Street. I recommend them both. Each has great people watching opportunity with menu choices and full bar.
I love the atmosphere here for the lakeview, although the service here can be a little bit inconsistent. I believe they are having difficulty finding staff.
If you have an open schedule I highly recommend, the patio is great for sitting in the sun and enjoying the view of the river. This is a 6 minute drive from our house, 61 south.

Sightseeing
They do FREE delivery with the rental of two Kayaks. This is a fun way to get on the water without getting wet. You can have them delivered to the rest stop on Hwy 61, within walking distance from our house. This would be a great way to spend your morning.
