The Numismatic Museum is one of the oldest public museums in Greece.
It was established in 1834, the same year as the National Archaeological Museum.
The love for Antiquity, prevalent at the time in Europe, and the recent foundation of the Modern Greek state had created the conditions of protecting the national cultural heritage. Hence, from the beginning, the history of the Museum was directly related with that of the Modern Greek state, the social circumstances and the cultural directives of each age.

The Blue Condominium of Exarcheia
The Blue Condominium (Greek: Μπλε πολυκατοικία) is an apartment building in Athens, Greece. Being an example of modern architecture in Athens, it is on the corner of Arachovis and Themistokleous Streets near Exarcheia’s center square, and was built in 1932-1933 for Kostis Antonopoulos who was also the builder and first owner of the building. It was designed by architect Kyriakoulis Panagiotakos while the initial dark blue colour of the façades was selected by painter Spyros Papaloukas
Today, the Blue Condominium, being stripped of its characteristic blue colour and with its innovations being considered obsolete, risks losing its own identity.
